In HS I drove my dads truck with a camper top and let 6 friend’s hot box the back on the way to a party, one of them jumped out while we were doing 30 mph because he thought a cop was following us.
Yeah, this didn’t happen.

So the story goes from the cop being confused to they were after this guy because weed?

As far as the marijuana goes, as a juror I would wonder if LE planted it when searching the apartment. Make the victim look bad and ithe killer look good. Amber Guyger was dead wrong with her actions that night!!!
During the autopsy they will do a drug test..

IF this was an accident and she enters the apartment thinking it was her own, then if she shot the victim for no other reason than he was there that is a hell of a lot different than if she shot him trying to hit her with a bat.
I just don’t understand this line of thinking. If a random stranger bursts through my front door with a handgun on their waist, I am well within my rights if I shoot that stranger dead in order to protect my property and my life. If that stranger shoots me first, it’s likely murder, maybe manslaughter depending on the circumstances. He doesn’t get to claim “self-defense” after unlawfully entering MY residence.
But in this case, we have no reason to believe the victim was armed (don’t you think that would have gotten out by now?) which makes it even more egregious. The only reason I can see to give the shooter the benefit of the doubt is that she’s a cop. To me, that ALSO makes it more egregious. A) she was off-duty and B) police officers should be held to a higher standard - ESPECIALLY when they’re off-duty.
I’m not buying into any conspiracy theories about evidence being planted, but I’m also not buying into any “extenuating circumstances” unless or until someone can show that the victim willingly let her into his home.

Exactly. The police didn’t make a news release saying “oh we found drugs!”
It was listed on the return of the search warrant and is public record. It was released when the press made a public records request.
This pisses me off because the media is reporting the attorney's cries of smear tactics. The media is stirring shite by not coming clean to the fact that they released the pot story.

We can surmise this is a bullshite case when the Blue is trying pretty hard to protect their own. Because... if it were reversed and he made the address mistake? And she defended herself? He's guilty without question.

Correct me in I'm wrong, but if the police show up with a warrant to look for a bullet casing, that doesn't give them the right to go through drawers or places the bullet casing won't be. They can't just go through the victims entire house.
quote:
It is standard procedure to obtain a search warrant for a crime scene. They have to recover the bullet casings, etc. if they found an illegal substance while conducting the search warrant, the police will confiscate it. That can’t and won’t leave it there because it wasn’t hers. Though I believe the warrant does not indicate who it belonged to. For all we know, it could be the officers

finding something in the open that might lead to probable cause of a deeper search ?

It doesn't matter what they find in the dudes apartment. The cop fricked up and smoked some dude sitting in his own home.

Still nothing to do with shooting a human being in their own apartment .
I’ve seen/heard 50+ excuses for this lady or how the murdered guy might deserve it.
That is part of the issue. We can have a 2 second clip of a minority allegedly doing wrong and we will get 50+ reasons / jokes why they and entire race is guilty.
It’s not a level playing field . We all commit crimes but if cops, judges, public , etc are biased you seek and prosecute at different rates, while looking other way at certain ppl.
Before the BS, I’m more concerned on black on black crime than I am on cop against minority crime. Just interesting see how some comment on this case vs when perp is minority.

An overwhelming number of people are saying this cop is completely 100% wrong. It is actually relieving to see so many on the same side of an issue. Quit trying to divide us and be happy that we are standing together on this. Sure there may be a couple of idiots online and some deep state operatives trying to divide us but it is clear everyone is on the side of the victim here.

One of the first things said was that they didn't know each other. I heard on the radio that witnesses had come forward saying she was beating on the door, yelling at him, by name, to be let in.
Is there any other reporting of this? This changes the "Didn't know him" part, if true.
Has anyone else heard this?

The Poliboard has been fricking awful as usual about this. One poster over there said she was justified beating down the door and shooting him since she may have smelt marijuana and thought he was a drug dealer. Due process means nothing to them.

Poli B. The detention room of TD. Where you envision everyone getting their school clothes from the local church clothes closet.

I'm not making shite up, put the bong down and maybe you'll realize not everyone gets the same high as you.
We don't even know if the victim was high at the time. But the idea that being high or drunk makes you more rational is absurd. I was simply saying that its a plausible defense that anyone would use.
Again, the shooter is guilty and should go to prison.
ETA: Another article from High Times for you, let me know if you'd like some more evidence. Those two were simply the top google searches:

Who said they went through drawers to find it? I’m not defending this cop, but y’all are jumping to a lot of conclusions. It could have been on the counter. If they see it, they take it. It doesn’t mean the cop was justified in killing him. And the police didn’t have a press conference announcing they found weed. It was listed on the warrant. No one is saying bc pot was found, the shooting was justified. She will do her time.

I haven't read everything on this case so maybe I've missed it. But I didn't hear anything about the cops phones or computer being confiscated. It seem like they'd rule out any involvement with the victim while investigating her story.
