Because back the blue or something

That's the story I would've come up with, but I would've also added that he ran at me and we tussled.
Almost all high-rise apartment doors close themselves unless you hold the door right before it closes. He was probably chilling in his place with the door closed, lights on, heard someone messing with the door, went and opened it, and the officer shot him.
Since the search warrant includes that they were looking for video equipment, I wonder if he had a Nest camera in his place. I'm also wondering if the building has cameras in the hallways, but that would have been figured out by now

Who has argued that the marijuana in his apt makes her not guilty?
Additionally, would marijuana not be reported and seized if this was a normal civilian that did the shooting?
If someone is looking for a conspiracy in any case involving the police it’s fairly easy to find some possibilities in collusion.

We can surmise this is a bullshite case when the Blue is trying pretty hard to protect their own. Because... if it were reversed and he made the address mistake? And she defended herself? He's guilty without question.

An attorney for the family of a man shot dead by a police officer in the man's own apartment said a police affidavit shows investigators immediately sought evidence to discredit the victim. "They immediately began looking to smear him,"
Of course the family attorney will say this. It's his job. But the fact is that if the cops did in fact find drugs in the apartment they have to note that fact in the report.

If it was anyone other than a cop, it would be a murder charge. I don't doubt that for a second

Either scenario. If he was killed by her due to a mistake, it would be self defense. If he shot her entering an incorrect address, he's guilty. This case bothers me. A lot.

Exactly. The police didn’t make a news release saying “oh we found drugs!”
It was listed on the return of the search warrant and is public record. It was released when the press made a public records request.

quote:Yep, he would be screwed either way. I think police officers should have higher penalties than citizens for crimes they commit, not the other way around. And they wonder why more and more people are becoming distrustful of law enforcement.

Yes I have plenty of times. Not in years. Why does that matter? I graduated from auburn, how many people have gone to college and not seen a lot of people high?
I realize that pot generally mellows people out. Generally. I’ve also seen plenty of people freak out on pot.
Are you trying to argue that recreational drugs make someone more rational? Are you saying you’ve never seen someone act very nervous after smoking MJ in certain situations?
In HS I drove my dads truck with a camper top and let 6 friend’s hot box the back on the way to a party, one of them jumped out while we were doing 30 mph because he thought a cop was following us. Would he have done that sober? I have countless other stories of people high on MJ acting like idiots for no other reason than being high.
I’m not saying the victim did here.
I’m saying it’s certainly plausible the victim heard someone at his door and he was high, went to the peep hole and saw it was a uniformed officer, and freaked out.
The lady that shot him is guilty of killing him. All I’m saying is there could be an explaination that she deserves the death penalty, or there could be an explaination on why she deserves minimum time. Neither of which the general public knows at this time.

I've smoked for 22 years and not once seen anything like that.

You don't have to answer your door. It wouldn't freak me out.
Not saying others wouldn't but I'm saying someone whom is high is typically relaxed so why would he freak out? Being nervous someone is in his home, sure. It was a cop not a thief looking to rob him.

The way this has gone for the victim is appalling. Another seemingly clear case of the Thin Blue Lyin'
How has this gone for anyone so far? You guys are creating legal scenarios out of whole cloth and then railing against them. Where has this massive cover-up conspiracy manifested itself? Has there even been the most rudimentary legal or court proceedings yet?
So now, if the police gather any and all information or evidence at the scene or related to the case it's a sign that the police are covering up. But if they do what the OT forensics experts deem is a quick investigation that is also points to a police frame-up. So which is it?

search warrants that look for contraband of any nature in an innocent victims house don't just fall out of the sky.

What? A shooting occurred. In Dallas fricking Texas. She wasn't even brought in or questioned for 2+ days. Add that and this goes to Grand Jury? Come on.
