It’s nice when people do this, but I have never understood what is so god damn difficult about putting a bag in a bin.

They should also address the large number of passengers in wheelchairs who board first along with their handlers. The same passengers who get to the end of the ramp and casually walk on the plane and that you see moving around normally in baggage claim. Especially bad at MSY. Last flight out of Nola there were at least 15 of them.

Charge for carry-ons and make checked bags free. That would reduce boarding and deboarding.
If a standard suitcase-sized check bag was included in the ticket price, and carry-ons had to fit below the seat in front of you, a lot of bullshite would be avoided. Then board back to front. You wouldn’t even have to worry about this window vs aisle BS. Having the majority of luggage overhead was a dumb move. Charge for that space.

Too much mass stupidity in an airport to really do anything more efficiently.

The only real change required:
If you pre-board with a wheelchair, you get off last and must take a wheelchair. It's amazing to watch 8 wheelchair pre-boards only to have those people magically cured during the flight.

That’s some bullshite I doubt this really will speed it up that much and then it would take all the over head space up for people who prefer isle seats

Which is hilarious. Why tf do these people want to spend MORE time sitting in a shitty metal tube within arms length of 6-8 other people.
My goal on flights is to have them shut the door behind me.
Overhead bin space. I frequently ear announcements on full United flights that they will have to start gate checking bags somewhere in group 3.
If I'm in First I don't typically care as there is usually space in the bins.

Reads like a Larry David quote

Yeah forget all that. I don’t ever check a bag if I can help it. I can fit a weeks worth of stuff in my carry on and personal item. I always check in as soon as I can and pay for priority boarding just for the security of overhead space. There are few things I have less patience for than an airport baggage carousel

Some hen-pecked husband is going to take advantage of this new policy to leave his wife. Sends her on the plane first for her demanded window seat, saying he'll be right along as soon as the loser middle seaters are allowed, then sprints to join his mistress on the Southwest flight to Belize in the next terminal.

Can’t wait to be seperated from my child. I would assume they took that into account but this is the OT …

My last flight from Denver to Jax had 23 wheelchairs board.
When it came down to deplane, a healer arrived and got that number down to 8.
I was wondering about that.
Now I know it just scum bags.

To each their own. This is not nearly enough incentive to sit on a stationary plane for an extra 20+ minutes.
Also if I’m flying with family we are checking a bag regardless so a lot of times I’m flying overhead bin space is not a consideration.

I never check a bag. Flying with Mrs. H2O sometimes we have to though.

Pretty damn logical
The problem is that logic hardly ever works with airplane boarding.

Does it really matter how quickly you get to your seat. You still have to wait for everyone else to get their carry on stowed and get seated.

They should board the obese last. Walk of shame.
Having all of the obese on the ramp at the same time could cause a collapse.

Lol, that’s the only benefit of flying MIL to visit family, we would board first. Now that my son is older, we just go sit in the back and let the ladies be up front.
