That sucks...that will give the window people first dibs on overhead space. I'm an aisle guy. Terrible idea.

If you can't afford your own private jet then maybe you shouldn't be posting on the OT...

Always fly first class and this isn’t an issue

Charge for carry-ons and make checked bags free. That would reduce boarding and deboarding.

Great with adults but splitting groups with elderly, children or dumb/nervous first timers could cause problems.

First thing that came to my mind. Zero chance a parent is going to just leave their kid waiting in the terminal or let the kid board by themselves.

Wont this now just crate a second pre-boarding group for families and other people who need assistance from their traveling partner.

Doesn't matter, as soon they mention boarding half the flight will rush to get in line, be let on out of order, and frick it all up.

I'll never, for the life of me, understand what takes people so long. It's as if some folks have absolutely no notion of what they are going to have to do until they actually get right there to their seat and storage bin.

Oh, shite! I'm going to have to actually put my bag in the thing above me and get into a seat?!?! Let me take 5 more minutes to figure out how I'm gonna pull that off now that I'm here!

The window person could always wait and board when the middle seat's group goes

Makes sense. And it’s stupid to board front of plane first

Load back to front. Exit front to back

I refuse to check bags so jockeying for overhead space is always a priority. I understand the logic but this part has to be figured out. What about boarding people who have no carryon luggage first and use this method, and then board people with luggage. Also, as someone else stated, back to front would also help if you really want to increase efficiency.

Will be interesting to see how they handle priority boarding based off status and overhead space.

Priority boarding won't change. Elites will still board in Group 1 or 2 depending on their status

If you load back to front idiots still will take the first overhead bin they see. Then the front passengers bins are full, they have to walk to the back to find a bin, and then double back to their seat causing a bigger cluster frick.

Which is hilarious. Why tf do these people want to spend MORE time sitting in a shitty metal tube within arms length of 6-8 other people.

My goal on flights is to have them shut the door behind me.

But I get it: first class when would they board. The people that select the larger roomer seats in front of plane would board last - so this would probably never happen

I’m of a different opinion on first class boarding first. Since it’s separate from economy you don’t share overhead bin space.

If I pay for first class I’d rather board last so I can take my time in the terminal knowing I have an extra 30 minutes to use bathroom, eat, etc. frick boarding first and sitting on the plane an extra 30 min while all the disgusting lard asses shuffle their fat arse inches away from your face

Yeah. Window seats first and start at the back.

Those people will immediately be added to the No Fly list.
