I'm sure it just gets to a point we're they are scanning and boarding and not paying too much attention.
Yep. And another flight attendant saw her boarding pass but still didn't say anything.

Would it even be in the same terminal given domestic/international?
This was my thought as well. Plus they say "welcome to United flight 234 with nonstop service to San Francisco" like three times before they take off.

At what point did she notice the plane wasn't over water?

Was she not tipped off when the announcements onboard said Paris or when they were read back in French?
She was trying to go to Paris and ended up in San Francisco.

I haven't flown international through Newark. Some airports don't separate the departure gates though.

At least she didn't end up someplace worse like Mexico City or Canada.

I'm assuming that the airlines are the new things that the MSM and social media want us to be mad at?

Know how I know you failed significant digits?
It's all good.

I guess the fact that she didn't see the ocean out the window wasn't concerning to her.
Would have been a little too late at that point, no?

she was probably trying to get away from her parents.
And she thought, “Wow
If I could take this in a shot right now
I don't think that we could work this out”
Out on the terrace
I don't know if it's fair but I thought “How
Could I let you fall by yourself
While I'm wasted with someone else”

I'm going to side with the airline on this one. Read the damn sign at the gate, stupid bitch!
Posted on 5/8/17 at 1:53 pm to DavidTheGnome
UAL may have made a mistake, but how stupid do you have to be to willingly board a plane to SFO, with all of the PAS, announcing SFO during boarding, SFO is on the board at the departure gate, they make another PA before they close the door, people become pretty much idiots when they step foot on airport property, and of course if there's a snag, it's always the mean old airline's fault, airlines have become babysitters and scapegoats, but don't worry, congress gone stepn in an' fix it

No, I'm saying that the flight attendant didn't look very hard at her boarding pass. Neither did the gate agent.
But her sitting in the wrong seat should be a hint that her boarding pass needs to be looked at. Also surprised that she didn't get dragged off the plane bloodied and bruised after sitting in the wrong seat.

You guys need to RTFA before commenting. Yes, there has to be responsibility on her part. However- United changed gates on her and didn't make an announcement in French, only English. She does not speak English. They also failed to send an email notification of the gate change. She got on the plane at the gate shown on her boarding pass.
He niece has been the spokesperson for her on this since she doesn't speak English. Per the niece, they are only looking for United employees to pay attention to their jobs so this sort of thing doesn't happen. There were multiple points along the way where an employee who was barely paying attention would have caught the error and corrected it before this lady ended up a continent further away from here destination.

A lot of times planes will take the land route to Europe since it's cheaper than flying over ocean.
