To be clear, it doesn’t compare the skin of the person being charged.

It’s the customers paying the delivery fee.

It’s the restaurant owner that is being screened for their blackness.

Sure but you could argue it gives a financial incentive to not support other businesses. If some Hispanic guy owns a Cuban restaurant this could hurt him. Same for anyone else that isn't black.

Just goes to show how quickly we forget COVID. Restaurants are getting gouged by these fees and they need delivery to get by.

what about the hispanic and asian owned restaurants, I thought this was about colored people too.

Actually, I would include just the hispanics, they go through some racist arse BS moreso than asians IMHO.

Racial Preferences are killing this country...

Oh wait....

Oh well, I guess comments from the 1950s are equally applicable to 2020. The races may have changed, but the song still remains the same.

Same way it's not racist for a soccer team to fire a Foreign National because the twitterverse sees his skin color and assumes he's a racist white guy.

In other words, it's not legal, it's not ethical, and it's not moral, but it is an injustice to anyone and everyone not black.

Espiranzo your order is $10 extra, Chi yours too, and let's not forget your $10 Berenstein.

That's racist to the Chinese restaurants. What about Mexican owned?

So open discrimination SOLELY on the basis of race is now acceptable?

We are headed towards reverse racism as a penance for our white ancestors owning slaves. Reverse slavery is the only thing that might appease some of these people to atone for the past, which we present day humans had nothing to do with.

It absolutely IS racist. The irony is that everything happening right now from the left, ANTIFA, BLM is blatantly racist. But no one will dare call it for what it is.

And when did patriotism become a form of racism? So only those anti-American, anti-flag are NOT racist?! Give me a break.

So it’s ok to attempt to solve racism with racism? Gotcha. Problem is the people bowing to it and letting it happen out of fear.

It truly is unbelievable.

How is that not illegal?

It is literally deciding whether someone has to pay for a service based on the color of their skin.

That's exactly what it is, Scruffy. This is what true racism looks like.

I'm going to open something similar to Uber Eats but not charge white owned restaurants delivery fees. Or maybe only charge fees to black owned restaurants, basically the opposite of what Uber Eats is doing.

How long before I get shut down and labeled a racist?

I mean, I'm white so I'm already a racist. So how long before I'd get shut down?

So Uber Eats is telling Black owned businesses they know they cannot be as successful as businesses owned by Asians, Native Americans, Indians, Latinos or Whites and need special treatment because they are not as capable. It is sad that Uber Eats feels that way and very derogatory toward Black owned businesses.

In essence they are telling Blacks that their business skills are so inferior to every other race and ethnicity that they know Blacks cannot succeed without extra help. That has to be offensive.

These companies have other ways to make their money.

They may not charge a delivery fee, but then they will just add more to a "service charge" or they will charge more than normal menu price without people recognizing it.

I'm not complaining, because it's expected to pay more for delivery. You are paying for convenience one way or another. I still think it's a little crappy of the companies that charge more than store price when you are already a premium paying customer and paying service charges. I'm looking at you Instacart..

If they aren't doing those things then that's great. I don't really care.

It would ruin your life by doing that. That’s where we are today as a white man.
