So where will that loss be recovered?

Non black owned restaurants will now see a 10% increase in delivery charges.

What would cause any restaurant from saying they are black owned? I doubt they verify it.

Sweet this is exactly like the Affirmative Action Bake sale. It wont be long before they stop charging African American's a delivery fee not just the restaurant that sells the food.

I'm somewhat surprised that Uber doesn't provide black owned restaurants a star like sticker they can put on their door front

And, as a result, they will raise the fees on white-owned restaurants to cover their losses.

That's great. All the laws in the world don't matter if they're not enforced.

Add that one to the list of ones that won't be.

Somebody will likely try to enforce it in civil court. Some lawyer, somewhere, will have an easy case to earn some attorneys' fees.

We are headed towards reverse racism as a penance for our white ancestors owning slaves. Reverse slavery is the only thing that might appease some of these people to atone for the past, which we present day humans had nothing to do with.

Im also starting to believe these white guilt people are so ate up they want to be punished. They want to provoke the police so they can feel oppressed when they get popped with a rubber bullet.

Sure but you could argue it gives a financial incentive to not support other businesses. If some Hispanic guy owns a Cuban restaurant this could hurt him. Same for anyone else that isn't black.

Oh I’m not doubting that in the slightest. But what numerous posters were commenting on as if it was the race of the orderer that determined the fee surcharge.

I wasn’t arguing it was “right”

As I’ve said many times, this isn’t about equality.

So they don't want equal treatment, they want special treatment. Got it.
"they" didn't ask them to do that.

Time to delete the app.

I don’t see how this isn’t illegal and can’t wait to see some restaurant owners who still have delivery fees charged on orders sue the crap out of Uber for racial discrimination.

Hope this backfires bigly on Uber and makes a ton of their customers delete their app

ETA: app store reviews from the past day are ripping them over this

Y'all are downvoting no delivery fees?

Little Caesar's tried to charge me a $10 delivery fee on a $5 pizza a few weeks ago on Doordash.
