There is no way they were not allowed to graduate. My guess is they were expelled from their school and forced to “graduate” from the alternative school in the district.
So they still graduated. You can literally kill someone and remain in public school.

What I do know is that I will go with the opinions of the lawyers for the school district as opposed to a bunch of couch jockeys that spout unfounded opinions on the internet
You know that this went through them before a decision was reached

So it’s your belief that these two people were not allowed to graduate from high school, period?
There is no way that is true. If anything, they were forced to graduate from the district’s alternative school.
They can’t deprive them of a high school diploma for non-illegal, off campus behavior.

Yes and No.
Kids are still held responsible for the behavior off campus to a degree. The threshold may be extremelly higher for punishing kids for off campus issues, but it exist.
It may not make the news but kids get suspended and expelled all the time for things done outside of campus, including things posted on social media.

Who are they to say that my gut feelings about complex legal and scientific issues filtered through my political views are somehow less valuable than their "knowledge of the subject"?

So it's your contention that not only will they not walk at the graduation ceremony, they will receive absolutely no credit for finishing their high school education and will not even get a mailed diploma and force them to go back to high school for another year because of off campus behavior that has nothing to do with the school and is not illegal?
And you're a big supporter of that?
Where do you draw the line at appropriate punishment for this?

Straight up said how to make n-words with a hard r, said black people don’t have a dad, love fried chicken and watermelon, don’t make good choices, rob white people and go to jail. Video is pretty goddamn racist in my opinion but this is the OT so it’s “not that bad.”
If they went to a private school good on them for booting these kids because that was a horrible video and hurt the school’s image bigly.
Eta if they went to a public school it’s a trickier thing but my earlier point still stands. Maybe they should get high school credit but definitely not a “graduation.” Give them a GED or something

I’ve know several people who did stupid shite and not gotten to walk while still getting credit for finishing HS.
They already canceled graduation ceremonies in Georgia. Therefore, I take it as they are not going to give them a diploma. If they just aren't allowed to walk, well no one is this year. Big whoop.

No.
If they finished their coursework and satisfied all the appropriate requirements as defined by the district, they should get what they earned and worked for in their diploma.
It just doesn't have to be presented in a walk at a ceremony as there's no constitutional or any statutory requirement for that.

The girl is a stupid and absolutely moronic idiot.
So what?
They should still get their diplomas if they earned it at school.
Not this nonsense about "GED", "High school credit" or even going back for another year.
