its OT tradition to tell people how to spend their time and how to spend their money and if you dont spend money like they think it should be spent.....well you are just a dumbass according to them

but keep in mind...we are talking about a board largely made up of non college grads in one of the lowest IQ and poorest states in the country

go to a team usa invite only event and its pretty exact opposite of every single thing you are describing.

Now this I can verify. My oldest was at a rec allstar tourney and an elite 12U travel team tournament was playing in the same complex. The grown men that were pitching that day was crazy. Seeing kids absolutely blasting the baseball and not one parent even clapped

In fact, the only emotion coming from the stands was when an ump made an obvious bad call

Parents are the absolute worst. It's wild that they feel the need to do this. The same goes with the "everybody gets a trophy" generation. It was the adults who were handing them out, b/c little Johnny is not athletic and sucks at field day. He's probably pretty good at something else. Let him shine at that thing instead of trying to sugar coat it.

Don’t underplay the parents. In my experience, these are generally folks who find social prestige, in belonging to “vaunted” travel ball and the social activities that goes with it (travel together, hotels, putting decorations and names on all the rooms, fundraising, etc). Pretty avg folks otherwise but have that oversized prestige belonging need.

Hope the kid at least has fun with his friends most of the time while his parents sip adult bevs at night while junior plays in 98 degrees in June & July…and the boy does not hate his parents that much for it.
