I don’t think all of the increases are just from more widespread testing. Jefferson County, AL has seen an explosion in case numbers the last few days, even though there has not been a note able increase in testing capacity/ability.

How about a figure that equalizes all countries? I'm pretty sure Italy blows every other country away on a per capita basis. Ditto Spain. And if you seperate the tri-state area we are very low by even the raw figures.

Germany has been testing around 120k a week for COVID-19 during the monthlong period since late February.
Some others:
Tests per million people:
7k South Korea
5k Italy
3k Canada
1k USA
The even more important distinction is WHEN the testing started. Germany, South Korea not only tested in huge numbers but did so and began isolating positives and their contacts while we were still saying this was no big deal.
