I'll add Calendar's on Highland. Live music, goldfish-bowl-sized Touchdowns (I think that's what they were called) and great app specials

ETA: Gator Bar on Sunday nights. 10-oz cans, holes in the wooden floor

When I was in school Tigerland was The Tiger, Sports Illustrated (later Sports after the cease & desist), and Fred's.

Then Snorkels showed up and I think became Senor Frogs.

The Tiger was across from Sports.

Thirsty Tiger a little basement bar downtown. Is it still open? My friend Otto wants to know.

My list (prior to that catfish town atrocity, makos)

1. Bengal (captain jack will get you looking for a girl quick because the lights are coming on!)
2. the one across the street from SI and Freds
3. Xanthus (when it was still alternative and not gay..aka before Neimans closed down)
4. Hoolihans/Shanihans(?) was the the one 2 blocks from Bengal?
5. The one 2 blocks and ACROSS the street from the Bengal?
6. Murphys - Where Dennis Quaid had his way with the sorostitutes.
7. Chimes
8. Drinkin' with Lincoln (what was that bar named?)
9. Bayou (free pool every afternoon...!!!!! and got to watch Laura San Giacomo pretend to be a bartender

Yeah 2-- is The Tiger and Cilly's prior to that.
I'm pretty sure Shanahan/ Hoolihans didn't make 1988.

Peppy's should be on the list...

Bayou, Chelsea's, Library, Chimes, Happy Note...I can't remember the small one on Chimes that we used to go to. Not Ingas, but something...mid 90's list.

Damn, we had a lot of great bars back in the day. I guess we just didn't realize it until they were gone.

I preferred Riano's next door. I usually tried to avoid the Greek crowd.

The Caterie?

Finding out the Gutter Sharks were playing always dictated a change in plans and heading out to the Caterie.

Drinkin with Lincoln and $3 beer bust at TA's were also fun times.

I spent many hours in virtually all of the bars mentioned.

Also, spent a bunch of time in Doc's, which I think is Bogies now.

Who was the guy who played acoustic guitar? He'd have a bar full of drunk college students singing the Sesame Street song?

Across Highland from Tigerland...nickel draft night. That led to many a hang over lunch at Brewbacher's.
