Both Shanahan's and Kilpatrick's were across Highland from the Bengal.
Not Top 10, but there was a place we used to hit in the late afternoons, down Highland near the I-10 river bridge overpass. I think it was called Sleepy Hollow, and then the Art Bar?
Did anyone mention Chelsea's, in Cortana Mall? BADass Long Island ice teas.

TA's Tavern
I have a mug from there with the 1989 drink specials listed on it. It's proven to be nearly indestructible.

Also, spent a bunch of time in Doc's, which I think is Bogies now.
Wasn't it the Dugout?

Gotcha. I was tail end of the 80s and didn't recall it as Docs. Dugout was the first place I went in highschool.

When I turned 18, I went to the the now-Bogies and it was a techno club called Gridlock. I don't think it was open very long.
Really, the only thing I remember is the outdoor patio and there was a face made out of stucco on the wall in the mens bathroom. The place was definitely designed for heavy drug users.

Sunset Club cups were fancy glassware when we were in college. Lots of bullfrogs were drunk to get that set.

8. The Bengal
Just the thought of a Skylab Fallout or a Cajun Boilermaker makes my stomach turn.

Not in LSU but definitely college crowd: Jacy's on Florida Blvd.
Many a great punk rock show went off like a bomb at that place.

Late 80s was prime time for Peppy's by Southdowns. Meet market sluts a go go.

Doc's had a nickel beer special on Friday afternoons.
It was some no name draft beer served in small solo cups, but man what feeling it was to give the bartender fifty cents and suddenly have 10 cups of beer put in front of me.

Finding out the Gutter Sharks were playing always dictated a change in plans and heading out to the Caterie.
I was actually the original drummer in J.T. and the Guttersharks... Playing the Caterie was always a blast....
We use to throw down at Sports as well... Lucian, Darren and Billy use to get us shite faced every time we played..
Drinking shots from the big titty pitcher...
We played Fred's one Saturday night after LSU beat Georgia, they wouldn't let us leave...

Cannot count the number of times we had plans, called the Caterie and found out y'all were playing and changed our plans. The phone lines were hot all over town as we called to update our plans with friends. No cell phones and we stil all managed to show up at the right place.
