After 9/11

Was going to say this. It was amazing collectively a country putting aside differences and looking out for each other. It didn't last long but it is the most "together" I have ever seen this country in my lifetime.

Returning from the USSR. It was my first time out of the USA and the experience flipped me from liberal smirker to conservative flag waver.

No straight ROTC. SGM Rippey was the senior NCO in the ROTC staff. We had gotten really close because the Army underwrote part of the costs of the school's rifle range. I shot 3 position smallbore in college. We had a coach but the Army provided a part-time NCO to handle a lot of the day to day. SGM Rippey was that guy while I was in school, so we spent a lot of time together in the range.

9/11.

First and only time in my life I considered joining the military. I didn’t, but I had always been adamantly against it. (Wish I would have knowing what I know now)

LGB? Isn’t that the abbreviation for the figs who don’t accept trannies as part of their movement? Is there anything else that abbreviation can mean?

Let’s Go Brandon? What is this, 2023? I don’t even like Biden, but he’s out of office and it’s hard to care about him very much anymore. Honestly, that was kind of a childish meme in the first place.

Just think liberals on this board will do the opposite for July 4th this year because they hate America and Trump so much.

More likely than not, when I was in the military was the peak of my patriotic feelings.

When in High School.
I had just completed a course in World History. The rise and fall of Persian, Roman, and Greek Empires. I remember thinking, we finally got it right.
Little did I know, Jane Fonda and the and her Lefty pals were already trying to overthrow the government.

Buying an American flag at Walmart on the afternoon of September 11, 2001 and seeing only one left when I got to the flag section.
