It supposedly contains large amounts of alcohol so you have to verify your age when buying it.

What the frick is wrong with people?

Drinking windshield wiper fluid should never cross the mind of anyone.

Maybe it helps them see more clearly when they’re feeling blue.

Pretty sure wiper fluid is safer than the bottom shelf liquor I drank in college.

If kids wouldn't have tiktok challenges drinking it, wouldn't be an issue.

I feel like <18 yr olds aren't the ones drinking it.

Then again, kids were eating tide pods a few yrs ago.

Regular wiper fluid is fine.

It's the RainX version you have to show proof of age for.

What’s the minimum age to drink mouthwash with alcohol in it again? Oh, yes, zero, although it’s not recommended below age 2.

And what’s the minimum age to drink alcohol at a Catholic mass again? Oh, yes, zero. Or I guess whenever you get your first communion, which I think is about age 7.

There are ways to extract alcohol from that stuff. Viktor Belenko’s biography describes how MiG-25 maintenance crews in Siberia would extract alcohol from antifreeze fluid by pouring it into pans filled with bread. The bread would soak up the toxic stuff leaving drinkable booze behind. HQ in Moscow was always asking why they were going through so much antifreeze.

Almost all wiper fluids have methanol as a main ingredient, BUT there is one RainX formulation that has ethanol instead. This may be the reason that all RainX versions are ID-required purchases.
