While I think New Orleans is a dump Overall, you clearly haven’t been to some of the neighborhoods where the rich people live.

Chicago has been a city of civil unrest, crime, and violence pretty much since its founding.
I have an old Chicago Tribune article from 1896 about my great great grandmother scaring off 2 armed robbers from the store her and my great great grandfather owned. It was the 3rd attempted armed robbery there in as many weeks. The eventually left Chicago because of the unchecked violence.

I've been to all three, Seattle and Chicago many times. They are all a lot of fun with a shite-ton to do... but... I wouldn't be planning a trip next weekend.

All 3 are awesome cities to visit. I would move to Portland in a heartbeat if cost of living wasn’t so high.

The thing with Chicago is the further you are away from a CTA subway stop, the nicer it is. I’m on the park about .7 miles from the nearest sub stop (15 minute walk at least) and we got our usual 3/4 homeless people who hang out in front of the post office and that’s it.
I did leave river north north for a reason. Used to live right next to Clarke and division and you’d have low life’s hanging around the stop. But I haven’t seen shite in Lincoln park and very little in lakeview. Because as I told someone yesterday, they couldn’t find the part of town where I live if they were given a map. Because not near cta

Chicagoland speedway is one of the best I've ever been to. Granted its not IN Chicago per se, but still.
Also, when we had a mechanical issue on the road several years ago, the nice folks at a Chicago area dealership took excellent care of us.

Ill have you know sir, that new orleans has man fine areas amd establishments. Why we even have a brand new development with the Hard Rock Casino that is scheduled to be completed in 2032.
There were some minor delays but they just recently developed a task force under the leadership of our fine mayor who will be personally developing a plan shortly.
