Seattle
Chicago
Portland

I’d rather visit and stay in the slums of Haiti.

Eventually the poor people who live there will realize the goal of the democratic party is to keep them suppressed and under control.

At that point, positive change can occur, but not until then.

Federal bail-out is what they're hoping for.

I’ve been to all 3 and really enjoyed myself. (I’ve been to Chicago many times)

But it was under different circumstances than what is happening now.

Sad to see what’s happening in Chicago. It truly is a great city to visit during the summer.

they just need some good democratic leadership to get a firm grip on the situation.

It’s a shame. I visited Seattle and Portland around 8 years ago and those places were so cool

People assume that the general white population of Chicago is being effected by this at all. Or that businesses are. They’re not. Anyone with a white collar job is working from home right now for the most part.

I’m in LP and would never be able to say that there were rioting happening in RN and the loop.

Bars are fully open and everyone is going about their business.

Damn, sounds like you let a couple scary headlines keep you from some great experiences

Exactly

I’ve got a buddy who lives a block or two away from where all the shite is going down in Portland

He said if not for the “OMG riots!” headlines he wouldn’t even know anything was happening

For those of us around MSY, the Alaska Airlines non-stop to Seattle is the best choice when going anywhere in that direction past SLC.

So I’ll still use SeaTac as an airport because there’s plenty of cool stuff to see & do in a 500 mile radius of Seattle.

I’ve visited everything (that I know of) that I want to see in downtown Seattle, I won’t ever be staying there again unless I’m on business.

We all knew how placating and liberal the Mayors of Seattle, Portland, and Chicago were before this stuff started, their behavior during it should not come as a surprise to anyone.

FWIW, unlike Seattle and Portland, Chicago did ask for federal LEO support and the mayor has said they will track down the latest protestors and throw the book at them

Granted I went pre-COVID and pre-current civil unrest, but it’s a fantastic city. Have every intention of going back when things are safer. You’re missing out.
