This is the biggest crock of shite propaganda out there. America is great, but there are equal and better places to live as well where people are just as, if not happier.

And every single one of them volunteered. It’s total bullshite. No one made them be there, they chose to.

Vietnam vets? Sure. Some dude who had to move to Shreveport or go galavant over Korea for a year or two? frick off

Man its almost as if you send young people to fight your bullshite wars it fricks them up, in lots of different ways.

For any program there will be outliers.

And its being looked at presently. There was a Senate sub committee hearing a couple of weeks ago starting a review of the disability process from A to Z.

My thought? there has to be a 2 tiered system. One track for combat related issues and one track for the Air Force Reservist that fell out of his chair one weekend at Keesler.

Problem is, the vast majority of the people getting PTSD and disability payouts weren't anywhere near a combat zone. I served in Iraq in 04-05 And when I came back they practically begged us to try and get on the disability training. I know people that never left CONUS claiming - and receiving disability for PTSD. And it's not just a few.

Think about PTSD, it's virtually impossible to disprove once you are diagnosed with it. All you have to do is say you're irritable, have headaches, stress out over little things, etc. And you have no incentive to be healed. You think anyone's going to willingly give up $3k-5k a month of tax free money?

If we’re going to start looking into people getting benefits questionably, the veterans should be last on the list for scrutiny.
Once we’ve cut out generational food stamps, disability checks for no reason, Medicaid fraud, congressional grift, and about a million other things this government wastes money on, then let’s look into the men who they sent off to fight meaningless wars to line their pockets.

People are just pieces of shite and dont give a frick at all. Time for everyone to start scamming.

I wasn't implying that anyone is scamming, although I'm sure there are some.

Some vets have legitimate claims to having PTSD, and when the rules were relaxed, it opened the money pot up to more people.

They should definitely go after the scammers, but not everyone is a scammer.

I work with someone who was in the Navy. He says everyone gets partial disability for hearing and vision.

Folks get quite a bit of disability now for PTSD.......

Also, I often come across quite a few veterans with "service-related disabilities" who are perfectly fine to walk 18 holes of golf and swing a club violently.

I want our veterans to get what they need, but just like in non military scenarios, way too many people get benefits they don't need.

Trump needs to look in to this, and figure how many of the 42M getting SNAP don't need it and are able to work. DOGE up again.

Sure. Thats why there needs to be a Two system track:

1. Combat/Combat Zone Track;

2. Everything else.

Here is the real problem. The current standard is if something happens to you on Title 10 the government owns it. So natural things (like sleep apnea) that are going to happen to you anyway should be excluded. Thats biology related not service connected.

So it should not be hard to separate combat and combat related from the other claims. Two lanes.

Easy right? no the government will frick it up and the people that actually need help will suffer.

PTSD is real. But a monthly check doesn't fix that. If you are able to work full time no matter what you should not be getting a check.

Got a few operators at my plant that are 100% disabled, drive jacked up F250s, DV license plates and handicap stickers, but they climb 200’ towers Youtube is full of videos on how to file claims.

If he has hearing loss or tinnitus caused by his time serving would that preclude him from being a “workout warrior”?

Well there were two wars going on during that time so I would think it would go up. People who enlisted in the early 2000's and beyond were getting out during this time.

Firstly, it’s not a “disability check “ in the sense that 99% of the country thinks.

It’s more of a workman’s compensation plan. Yes, you get a disability rating, but that doesn’t mean you are bed ridden or unable to work/do stuff.

The majority of the stuff people are rated for you can’t see.

Hell, I got 50% for getting a defective batch of the anthrax vaccine, which then gave me IBS.

My only question about the PTSD disability allowance is that it seems to be given to NCO’s in a far larger per capita number as compared to commissioned officers.

I know someone who’s done a tour in our last 3 wars plus and additional 15 deployments worldwide. He’s retired now and has never even been considered for the ptsd benefit yet I see people like this who did maybe1 half arse tour and they are paid for life.

Now, if a solider is wounded in battle the rules change a bit in my mind. That’s real trauma.
