The sad/funny thing is I bet the owners think that it's cool and spent a bunch of money to be able to do that.

During the red light camera campaign one of the things we learned from all the studies was that while it decreased the number of running the red light accidents which happened but were few it greatly increased the rear ending of cars at the red light because so many people were stopping in the yellow because of fear of the camera
and read end accidents arent necessarily better than those in an intersection
