If you don't know the parents at least slightly, then the chances of a kid showing up to a random kid in their classes bday is pretty damn slim. Again RSVPs on the invitation.

Going to a random kids party with random parents sucks for the parents and I only do it if my kids are very good friends with the kid. IF my kid is very good friends with the kid then I basically know all of their parents just from school functions or what not.

But I'm also not dropping off my kid at a random kids party without knowing the parents slightly.

It could also very well be known that this mom is crazy and lets the kids do anything they want. It also sucks as a parent being the only decent parent at a party and having to tell your kid things like not to dive into the 3 ft deep pool just because everyone else's kids are doing it.

If a single dad had showed up with his kid her legs would have parted like the red sea...

Missed opportunity for all the baws out there.

So you make the kids day worse by showing everyone he isn't popular?

That is great parenting right there.

well my heart wasn't broken by the picture. There's not much truth to most stupid facebook crap that is posted now a days, so i just automatically don't believe them from the get go.

That being said, some parents like to have birthday parties at 5 oclock on a friday to avoid LSU/Saints weekend. As if traffic on a friday is normal in Baton Rouge. Some have kids that don't play sports, and have no idea that half the class has a soccer game during the birthday party.

All that being said, even if you don't want to go, you should try to make it to kids birthday parties when they are that young, i'd say 7 and under. My 5 year old didn't want to go to a party recently and we told him "how'd you like it if no one came to your party". Of course we don't have that problem. Somehow everyone in his class showed up at his at the bowling alley. fricking $800 birthday party b/c every little shite showed up.

That’s a father-son type moment.

Guarantee you that kid doesn’t have a man in his life and the only men he’s really been around have been the dudes that have ploughed through his mom.

the picture has since caught the attention of two Phoenix sports teams, who offered the birthday boy free tickets to celebrate with them at upcoming games.

I might sound like the a-hole, but I can't help but think that something like this was the mom's whole objective.

I'm curious to see those invitations? Like if kids were asked to pay, or something? Because I don't see mom fronting $300+ for all 32 kids and their parents to show up?

Why the hell would the parent post this picture on social media?

for this very reason. people who crave attention do this shite, even if it's at the expense of their kid. meanwhile, this is on the internet forever.

WTF cares? so it may end up as part of a meme one day. Doubt this keeps the kid from getting a job or accepted to grad school.

expense of their kid

what? kid will catch mores hit for having a mom who works at Hooters than he will from this photo.

Hell, he'll catch more shite for getting all the freebies than he will from this staged photo.

More likely Teddy’s mom is the a-hole.

There ABSOLUTELY is more to this story than is being reported. As I commented in the thread on the MSB, I have two young kids and there is a birthday party seemingly every weekend (sometimes 2 or 3 a weekend). Not one single time has there been a party where no one showed up. Some are more well attended than others, but there has never been a complete no show...even for the kids and/or parents that are not the most well liked. Now you're telling me that not a single one of THIRTY-TWO kids invited to this party showed up? Sorry, I'm just not buying it.

Either the mom is full of shite, there was some scheduling conflict that the mom knew about, but went ahead with the party anyway, or the invites were some half-assed last second attempt.

Dig a little deeper than the sob story the news/moms wants you to believe and I'll bet you'll find that either (a) at least a few kids showed up or (b) there is a VERY valid reason that none did.

I had a birthday party when I turned 7 or 8 at my house and fewer people showed than expected. I loved it because it was more pizza and cake for me.

No matter what exactly happened, I feel really bad for this little guy. Either his mother is crazy, he doesn't have very many friends, or maybe both
