that is sort of where the baha'i religion comes from. a nineteenth-century persian guy claimed to be the mahdi.
The only Mahdi I'll recognize is Paul Atreides.

I hold nothing against religious people. Your projection is an example of why people are so turned off by certain religious people.
All this bc of a lighthearted meme. Get off your high horse.

So you aren't an atheist or agnostic intentionally searching and posting memes in a thread you know will bring in those of the Christian faith in an attempt to mock their God and religion? That's what I attributes your memes and rhetoric to be.
My post was merely an observation that attempting to slight someone because you attribute them to a group where member(s) slighted or offended you didn't make sense to me.
All this bc of a lighthearted meme. Get off your high horse.

First of all, the parishioners are confusing the church (little b) building with the Roman Catholic Church (big B).
Unless I am missing something, the priest offered up the building as a place for Muslims to pray. He didn't offer up 2000 years of the Church's teachings for Muslims to altar or tear down.
Hell, is this not a great opportunity to teach Muslims about the mystery of our own faith? In essence, it would be against God's teachings NOT to do this.

Lord have mercy. Literally
We Catholics gather every Sunday to worship the Living God in the person of Jesus Christ (the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity). God made manifest in human form.
Islam views Jesus Christ as a prophet, but not a God. A heretical position bordering on blasphemy, if not full blown blasphemy.
Therefore I agree with these brave Irish Lay Catholics, this priest is a heretic.
Unfortunately we've only seen the beginning of what is coming at us over the horizon.
You say you don't agree with the Catholic Church on this? Then find a church that suits you. I'm sure you can find a heretical church, they're all over the place.
"For the time will come when they will not tolerate sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance with their own desires".- 2 Timothy 4:3

I even asked you a question if my theory was correct and your immediate response is to deflect and project upon me, someone who in this thread has simply engaged in conversations on the teachings of the Quran and Testaments in if they in fact worship the same God, and if a major prophet in one religion and deity in the other would approve of a house of worship being used in such way. You know engaging in the topic at hand.

So they should host drunken orgies at the church?
He isn't opening the church building up for orgies, he is offering it for peaceful worship.

Meh, you went through a fair amount more trouble than I would’ve to post some relatively juvenile memes to troll people in a thread about a belief system you don’t have.
Let’s not pretend you just posted one “lighthearted” meme.

This reminds me of the thread awhile back where some backwoods private Christian school in West Louisiana expelled a kindergartner because her adopted parents were lesbians. The kids straight parents were killed in a car crash or something and the only person to step up and take the child in was her lesbian aunt. The lesbian aunt even tried to hide the fact that she was a lesbo but eventually got found out and the kid was promptly kicked out.
A lot of people here were supportive of the Christian school making it more difficult for the child to receive a Christian education. Was very weird.

Speaking of religious hatred, I must confess, I do hate long arse Catholic weddings. But at least we usually have an open bar at the end

You just made the leap, that by simply opening a door of a building and inviting Muslims into said building, the priest himself immediately became a follower of Islam and a Muslim himself. If you truly believe this, you should consider Islam as its obvious Allah has super fast magical conversion powers to kick out Muslims so quickly.
Seriously, how is one suppose to grow and spread the Catholic (or Christian for those of you who actually have been brain washed into believing Catholics are not Christians) faith by never inviting other religions into the fold?
