Oh, I understand. That doesn't change the fact that Jesus would welcome them in.

We're kind of conflating here aren't we?

Do you think Christ would advocate Christians welcome Muslims to practice their faith/worship in his father's house?

Judaic teachings use the plural you when referring to Yahweh, while many/most factions of the faith may reject the Son and Spirit they do refer to Yahweh as a plurality.

I AM does not equal "We Are".

There is one God and the Jews refer to that throughout the Old Testament.

quote:

Yahweh for Christians and Jews alike is the same God of Abraham and Isaac. While theologically they may differ on the acknowledgement of the plurality it is the same God. The difference lies in the sacrament and rending of the holy of holies destroying the barrier between followers and Yahweh and providing all with an audience with Him through the death and resurrection of Christ.

Agreed on the difference between Judaism and Christianity, but just like the Muslims, the Jews do not recognize Jesus as anything more than a prophet, which is the exact same position that Islam has.

While Islam stems from Judaism, they departed in many ways with the warlord Muhammad. They still recognize that the Jewish God is their God. Christians recognize this as well, but with the new covenant, we recognize the Truth in one God in three persons or manifestations. Neither the Jews or the Muslims believe that. The Jewish God and the Muslim God is the same God. The Christian God is the same, but has been revealed further in the Trinity.

It's not clear to me that he wouldn't.

Allah is notated as deceitful, impersonal, demanding in the Quran. Yahweh is loving, personal, and forgiving in the Jewish and Christian teachings. If all three religions only believe in a single true God, and the Quran and Testaments contradict one another on who that God is, then it cannot be the same God.

My God is better than your God is man-made.

Please change the religion narratives to one of joining, not dividing, the world. It’s time to make a positive difference.

Right. I said anything more than.. should have been more specific.

The Sanhedrin, were like the democrats. They distorted the truth so badly as to retain their power that the Jews bought into their lies for 2000 years.

Elohim is plural. This is not disputed only explained as the term used in the Ancient texts as being used to capture all the powers of Yahweh when describing Him.

It is a monotheistic religion as are all of the Abrahamic faiths.

quote:

Agreed. The difference being Judaism refutes the ascension, and Islam refutes the death as being anything more than a trick played by Allah on the Jews for sentencing Jesus to death.

I agree that is what is taught in Islam. I do disagree that in looking at the Old Testament and Quran that they are describing the same God. I don't refute this ideology by those of Islam. I only say that my belief and understanding to be that Allah and Yahweh are so different in character that They cannot be one and the same. As I told someone earlier, a Bronco Sport and Bronco are not the same even if the Bronco Sport driver says they are.

I've always been fascinated by the Quran and their portrayal of Jesus as the Messiah. It does not refute His birth. It does not refute His power and miracles. It does not refute His ascension and second coming. It only refutes Him as divine, and His death.

Got it. Agreed. Powers are plural, God is not.

I completely agree. This fascinates me as well... that they can be so close, yet so far away. No other "prophet" in Islam was born of a virgin and delivered the miracles that Jesus did. I think they believe he is the greatest prophet prior to Mohammed who is simply the last prophet for them.

That said, Jesus is from the line of Isaac on his maternal side. Maybe that is the issue.

Ah the teachings of Jesus distilled: let my actions in life rise no higher than the worst impulses of others. Treat others with only the lowest level of cynicism you have assumed of them.

...Oh wait, that's not what Jesus preached

Not only that the Quran calls him the Messiah of the prophet Isaiah, their belief is just that his fulfillment of being the Savior will be in His second coming.

To your point earlier many Judaic teachings do denote Jesus as a prophet, just as a false one, as He proclaimed to be the Messiah but taught He was sent to save Jew and gentile alike.

So should they open it to people breaking the other 9 commandments or is it just #1 they should be ok with? Maybe they could let adulterers, murderers and thieves host meeting a there to make plans as well.
Are you suggesting that everyone that attends a church service is free of sin? All are welcome in His house.

Perhaps we do.

But it’s so predictable. Every single thread like this is always the same. A few people will stay on topic and discuss what the OP is about, then there are people like you who, for whatever reason, think it makes you the cool guy to come in here and remind everyone of how atheist you are!! We get it bud!! You don’t believe. That’s fine, you have the right to make that choice…

I’d just like to know why?? Why do y’all feel the need to rush into these threads to shite on people who do choose to be religious? Do you feel like it makes you better/smarter than everyone?

I don’t like soccer. Therefore, I never visit the soccer board. I don’t post in threads about soccer either, I avoid those threads because I don’t ‘believe’ in soccer. It’s really not that hard to have a little self control. Why do y’all feel the need to act this way in any thread that’s about religion? I’m genuinely curious to see what your reply is.

If you aren’t in the 15-20 year old range, you should be ashamed of the way you’re acting in this thread. Good grief
