The makeup was definitely pretty well done. I watched this video earlier with no context, nd I fully thought this was a white comedian making fun of rednecks almost a minute into the video.

Painting your face to impersonate someone is not a big deal.
The original intent of blackface in the vaudeville days was to make them seem less than human. 99% of people painting their faces dark today are not doing that, but stupid people need something to get upset about I guess.

I would bet that regardless of whatever is said that most are truly focused on the double standard and hypocrisy including with the appropriation “outrages” as well. “black face” was already stretched well beyond its actual racist vaudeville origins, and some were wanting to get offended at tanning cream usage and permed hairstyles. To me stuff like this, White Girls, and Tropic Thunder when done for satire, comedy in general, or sci-fi should not be seen as being any different than someone being made to look green or blue for a movie.

When he he hits, it's usually a home run. I saw that this weekend and thought it was just a normal nascar baw.
