He used to be. These days he’s now just a frontman for the Radical Left.

If you still think he’s a good interviewer, watch the one where Bill Burr comes on. It’s one of the worst interviews of all time.

Johnny Carson ruled late night for 30 years and nobody could tell if he was a Democrat or Republican. Late night hosts used to make fun of the President but they did it in a class clown kind of way instead this new way where politics dominates their show. Seth Meyers has an entire show devoted to the Mueller Report FFS. Do you think old school Conan or Letterman would’ve done that?

I maintain that one of the biggest events in this country’s history was the retirement of Johnny Carson. The Tonight Show used to be a shared experience in this country. Everyone basically ended their day the same way. When he retired, it led to Jay vs Dave and the trend of people finding their comedy silo at night....which led to Jon Stewart and the hoards of political “comedians” that we have now. The audience is completely fragmented and Americans are finding fewer of those shared experiences.

All the people I consider "real" comedians talk shite about the shite that late-night people like colbert are putting out. Everything now is hacky "trump is bad" jokes which aren't really jokes they are just comments.

omg, have you seen this about little drumpth? In his tweet this morning he spelled "their" as "thier". HEY TRUMP, HOW ABOUT INSTEAD OF BUILDING THE WALL YOU BUILD YOUR SPELLING SKILLS?

He was pretty funny on the comedy channel.

Then he was hired to replace David Letterman.. And he sucks.

CBS should move James Corden ahead of Colbert. I am not saying Corden is great, but he is better than Colbert.

His humor is on the level of high school students. Because of his political views I refuse to watch his show. He is a has been in my book. He also has a fricked ear.

He was funny as hell in the Colbert Report, even if I didn't like his politics. Same with Stewart.

Now he is just a pathetic sheep

Trump's presidency is literally the best thing that happened to the Late Show with Colbert. His show would've been cancelled a few years ago if not for that.

It’s lazy comedy.

Comedy shows, especially late night, used to be considered an escape from reality. Leno said it best when he said his job was to entertain the working guy/girl that had to deal with life all day and just wanted to laugh before going to bed. Sure, these shows have had to adapt due to the changing landscape, but it’s still lazy comedy to go political so hard.

The best comedy “talk show” out there is Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars. He actually respects comedy and you could watch a bunch of episodes and never even hear the name “Trump.”

It's okay, but pales in comparison to The Colbert Report. That show had me in tears almost every time.

I didn't read the entire thread, but of what I did read I'm surprised I didn't see anyone mention Seth Meyers.

How Seth Meyers still has a show is a miracle. I don't think he could be any less funny.

The only late night liberal host I can watch is bill Maher

You know what’s fricking incredible: Bill Maher is now the most conservative of the late night talk show hosts. He refuses to treat Hillary like a queen, tells the SJWs to frick off constantly, calls liberals pussies in general and respects the Right for not being such, and calls out Islam for what it is. 5 years ago he was the furthest on the Left, and I don’t think he’s changed all that much. It’s just proof this country has lost its fricking mind.

Yes.

Seinfeld really is a guardian for true comedy. He recognizes that PC has the potential to really do harm to something he loves.
