Got you. Yeah, I worked on post.
Not mil.
Is there a subltle diff tween saying on post vs on base?
Can’t even imagine being down there.
I cringe going thru places like Ajo, quartzite, etc.

Does anyone find him to be funny at all? I realize I’ve grown up in a red state but damn, this stuff is unwatchable. I don’t watch it, but sometimes I’m doing stuff when the news ends and I can’t get to the remote fast enough to change the channel before he gets in 2-3 bad political “jokes.”

I know he doesn't fit y'all's political views, but don't act like late night hosts ragging on a president is a new thing.
Johnny Carson ruled late night for 30 years and nobody could tell if he was a Democrat or Republican. Late night hosts used to make fun of the President but they did it in a class clown kind of way instead this new way where politics dominates their show. Seth Meyers has an entire show devoted to the Mueller Report FFS. Do you think old school Conan or Letterman would’ve done that?
I maintain that one of the biggest events in this country’s history was the retirement of Johnny Carson. The Tonight Show used to be a shared experience in this country. Everyone basically ended their day the same way. When he retired, it led to Jay vs Dave and the trend of people finding their comedy silo at night....which led to Jon Stewart and the hoards of political “comedians” that we have now. The audience is completely fragmented and Americans are finding fewer of those shared experiences.

Thanks. I’ve always thought PX was a general term. Learn something.
Cheers

Comparing the world of 3 channels to what we have now is foolish.
Of course they wouldn’t. But would they if they started now is the question.

Even Conan is like that these days. If you go back to his shows from 15 years ago, it's like a 180 from what it is now.
No masturbating bear, no watch.

That's because people watch the news and fall asleep with the TV on.

You could see Colbert getting physically awkward because he was having to choose between laughing at a legit funny joke and keeping his progressive bonafides.
That interview was brutal.
Maybe she was a construction worker. Or a foreman.
..... SHE WASN'T.

The only thing on tv less funny than Colbert is that Samantha Bee.
Samantha Bee started showing desperation to me sometime in the past few months, which is death for comedy.
Never watched the show, but TBS has ads for it on non-stop.

Quit watching late night tv all together.

I have a couple of Leftist friends that hate her show with a purple passion. How bad is your show when it can't even win over its target audience?
I try to make sure to watch the local news on the CBS affiliate (WAFB) at 10pm just so I can switch to something else the moment before Colbert comes on (because Hulu is probably tracking it).

This. A large portion of people want entertainment not intertwined with politics

I know it’s not new but damn it sure seems like it when you take an 8 year hiatus
