Can you go into this further? I’m not sure what first against the wall is.

I mean you cant stay up 24/7 by yourself and people arent dumb. if they know you have a compound with shite in it they will, sure as you are born, kill you without thinking twice about it. Its why community is so important. No such thing as an Army of one.

If there is chaos, and one thinks about fleeing, the greatest issue is to know will there be chaos in the direction which I plan to head. I'm staying home, locked, loaded & ready!

We have most of the items at both our main house and our lake house but no generator or gas storage….and plenty of like minded people around us at both places and I know where to get spring fed water close by both

I live in the country, a farm. Surrounded by timberland.

Will drop trees to block my lonely country road.

Have a 40,000 gallon pool and a couple of fish ponds.

Some solar power.

Just up hill from a small river.

Have cases of ammo.

And lots of dogs. big mean dogs.

Home. I live on a family “compound” with cooperative neighbors. One has livestock, I have solar, welding machines, a machine shop and can fix almost anything electronic or mechanical. Everyone has guns.

Gotta have something or some skills to barter with.

Yeah unless you can be self-sufficient in an inaccessible, undesirable area … and even that only buys you so much time… you better find a posse/community real quick.

Say baw, we just gonna be chilling on the calcasieu at the camp, garden, chickens, trot lines, enough 22 LR rounds to pop deer and squirrels for decades. Learn to brew some shine. Sound like a way to pass a good time.

Why would I leave my established home base?

Everyone says they are going to hunt and fish if all that happens. No game or fish will be left and that’s where the masses will be. I’m
Staying put. I’m good, and if I’m not good after my decision, I’m old enough that it won’t make much difference anyway. frick all the panicking and rolling out.

What exactly do you mean by "societal collapse'?

A complete collapse of all functions and services? If so, then you need to get away from any mid-size or larger urban area as soon as you can.

The reason isn't the one that most people believe in: anarchy and lawlessness. It's disease and contamination.

Without sanitation services garbage, sewage, waste, etc. Will build up and become a source of pestilence that will spread throughout the population, with no means of combating it.

Remember this: the profession needed more than any other for civilized society to be possible is sanitation.

If you don't believe me, wait till garbage men go on strike.

My escape plan was always to go to the Pontchartrain Marina and steal someone's sailboat and just sailboat towards the Caribbean
