I am well aware of this- did you know that the Covid vaccine would completely eliminate your chances of catching the virus?

Do we know anything about the transmission mechanics or rate of this hantavirus strain? Do we know the 1st world mortality rate? Do we know anything?

To me this feels more like the Ebola scare of 2014 than COVID, but I'm not pretending to be any expert.

The medical profession as a whole never pushed something so fricking dumb as the vaccine completely eliminated the risk of contracting Covid. Ever

Were they wrong about things? Of course, that should be expected. But using that as a reason to just blindly go against all medical advice for viruses that have been around for decades is just dumb

The issue is that they allowed themselves to be used politically and have lost the blind trust from the general population. Actions have consequences.

Do you and others know this andes strain had been around for over 30 years with human to human transmission? They have decades of information on this

Only you can read one AI summary on Google and defend it to the fricking death even as articles from legitimate news organizations prove it wrong.

I swear you must get out of bed each morning with the intent of being annoying.

What has been proven wrong?

This is andes hantavirus. The WHO just confirmed it. The WHO just confirmed it does not have asymptomatic transmission. The WHO just confirmed the risk is extremely low

What news sites are proving this wrong?

Now it's SIX Americans

quote:

Officials have confirmed that two people in Georgia, one person in Arizona and an unspecified number of people in California are being monitored.

The Georgia Department of Public Health confirmed the agency was monitoring two residents, but did not say where in the state the individuals are located or how long they will remain under monitoring.

'The individuals are currently in good health and show no signs of infection. They are following current recommendations from CDC,' the agency said a statement to USA Today.

The Arizona Department of Health Services confirmed it was notified by Oceanwide about one resident who had been on the ship.

In California, the Department of Public Health said it was alerted by the CDC about residents who were on board, but did not disclose how many.

Yes, California, we can do the math if you can't.

I mean you cant completely trust the WHO

But this isnt some new virus. It has been studied for years and there are 100 or so cases every year.

Its tough for it to spread outside of small clusters.

You can’t completely trust anyone. But I will trust the totality of the medical community over pirate king and random people on Twitter

Yeah there’s nothing so far that refutes the idea that this is the already very well-understood Andes strain of the virus, which can spread human to human but only in pretty unique circumstances. And it just so happens that being trapped in a Petri dish of a cruise ship for over a month with someone is one of those situations. And it still only spread to 6-7 other people out of 150-200 onboard.

So I can continue with planning my vacation in October and not prepare for the world to completely shutdown. Got it, thanks.

I can’t believe that people are falling for disease panics again, especially in this conservative message board.

It’s only spread to that amount of people on the ship so far.
The incubation timelines vary greatly at this point and is ambiguous.

I’ll take OVER 6 infections ultimately on that ship for all the Bitcoin please!

That's what I read earlier. I'm guessing all people on board were tested, right? So we know that's an accurate number?

If so, only 6-7 people being positive out of 150 is a very good sign.
