They need to turn the First Crusade into a limited series. The fact that it succeeded with the amount of infighting amongst the leadership, where there was no central authority, is a miracle unto itself.

Sounds like something I’d enjoy, but I seriously doubt it would get made these days.
If so, it would definitely be from a point of view where the Christians are evil.

As one of the longest reining, and most powerful Empires in world history, the Ottoman cannons reduced the legendary Theodosian walls to rubble after a 53 day siege. A major turning point in world history as the path to Europe was open for the Muslims to invade.

Pretty crazy that the Fall of Constantinople and Columbus reaching the New World were only 40 years apart.

What's crazy is how close they came to invading western Europe. The Holy League saved Europe from coming under Muslim rule when they halted the Ottoman advance at Vienna in 1683.

Ain’t shite compared to my man Charles the hammer at the battle of tours nearly 1,000 years earlier.

I think the pantheon is much much better looking, and is actually a church still.

Well, unlike Hagia Sophia, the Pantheon was not built as a church. It was built by the Romans in 125 AD. It was gifted to the Church in 609 AD.

The French people weren't really a fan I guess when they dug him and all the other monarchs up, dumped them all in a mass grave, and poured lime all over them in celebration of the revolution.

I’m really interested to hear what all of the woke leftists think about this famous landmark being taken from Christians and occupied by Muslims. Will they be consistent or hypocritical?

Charles Martel definitely did his part to stop the advance of Islam into Europe. However, the Siege of Vienna was the absolute climax of Islamic power. The battle was epic in scale and was ended by the largest cavalry charge in history (18,000 horses) led by Jan Sobieski.
