So you make 17% over your salary instead of 25%. Gotcha.

With the exception of the judiciary and the military, I’d be fine with eliminating every federal job.

Thank you for your work. You are not going to find many here support anyone who works for a living in the Federal Gov.

GS-14 is a nice paygrade. I know a few who are trying to make it in that location as GS-11 and it's hard with how much stuff cost and how you make too much to take advantage of many of the area programs that exist.

It's crazy they'd have a LEAP pay bonus and then say you can't have it due to making over what the grade allows. Sort of self defeating the need to reward LEO for their work. But we are talking about the Federal Gov., so logic is not the basis for a lot of this type of thinking.

We taxpayers don’t think anyone up there in federal gov is worth $200,000/yr.

Are you salaried or hourly paid? If you're hourly paid, you'll find little sympathy. There are few that make that kind of income by being paid hourly.
If salaried, you should know the cap which looks documented so it also hard to sympathize.

So quit and go to work in private sector and see how much you're really worth.

Betcha its probably worth about 1/3 of your current pay.

WTF do you do to justify GS14?

Just looked up my field. A technical specialist only gets you to GS12 or GS13. A masters and above is required for GS9 and GS11 is PHD level.

Science is truly underappreciated, yet we figure out new ways to help doctors save people every day.

You’re absolutely correct that your employer should pay you the agreed up salary. It’s ridiculous that we have gotten to the point in this country that the majority of the posters downvote you, essentially saying that you should be punished for your employer’s malfeasance! by having to go find another job - likely losing seniority and other benefits in the process. It’s your employer who is clearly in the wrong.

I am a GS-14, Step 6. Because I'm currently stationed in the DC area, my salary is $166,236, plus an additional 25% for LEAP (Law Enforcement Availability Pay), which is built in overtime for callouts, unforeseen continuation of the duty day, etc.

So you are getting paid a extra 25% for potentially getting called out or having to work late on a duty day. Oh you poor fricking thing. Why don't you tell everyone how you government employees were gaming the system during the shutdown? It must be nice to have to get paid and still take time off and not have to use PTO.
