back in the cocaine cowboy hay day the Mexicans were looked down upon by the big time drug producers, considered minor leaguers because all they pushed was pot

Legalization was a political scheme to raise taxes and give away profitable concessions to their buddies.

If it was legit, they would have just eliminated the criminal penalties.

Smoking weed, unlike drinking alcohol, can get others around the smoker high. It also stinks to high hell.

While there are alternatives like edibles, smoking weed should be illegal outside of one’s home. Even then, in apartments, you are stuck with your neighbors weed potentially getting you high and making your home smell like arse.

Also, people claiming it is non-addictive is hilarious. Being less addictive than heroin, cocaine and opioids doesn’t make it non-addictive.

Yeah, but at some point, you gotta blame the states who take charge and cant manage the product at all. I watched mississippi, who just started selling prescription weed. Its way expensive than street weed and mississippi drug there feet on every part of the process, applications for consumers, permits for business such as growing, selling, transportating, distrubuting or disposal that they effectively somewhat crushed the market.

I met 2 people who put in almost 500k into each of their business in that area. Only to pull out. Havent met a single individual that is making money in that business. The rest are effectively holding out, losing money hoping it turns around. But they have money to wait it out.

It hasnt looked like it became a positive for the consumer or the business here.

It definatly didnt deliever on its promises. But it did bring in a tremendous amount of money for the state.

Should 100% be legal like alcohol but need better enforcement of driving while stoned. Every red light I get stopped at has some moron stinking it up. Sit in you house and kill brain cells if that's your thing but use Uber eats when you get the munchies instead of driving 25 in a 45 on your way to McD.

Sir I don't think you know what you are talking about. I've been around weed users all my life and never not once did I get high by proxy.

I have however been ran into by a drunk driver so there is that. I know a lot of happy pot heads, I don't know a single alcoholic that is happy.

For the record I no longer partake in either

In concept it is good but politics, in general, has become about hooking yourself and your family and friends up as we are seeing with DOGE.

So we back to the devils lettuce being a gateway drug?

Right. I consume a LOT of marijuana. I buy an ounce of 30% sativa at a time.

The only gateway that it leads me to is a chill time and into a dazed rhythm to do large woodworking projects.

I once smoked weed often, it’s not great when abused but nothing is when abused. Being stoned all the time has a negative affect on folks. Pot is easy to abuse

I also think we can safely claim at this point that weed is indeed a gateway substance.

Alcohol is easily the biggest gateway drug. It all starts with a drink every time

Then why have I been indulging for 40+ years, and I never advanced to any other drugs?

Living in a state (Kentucky) where marijuana isn’t legal (medical but it’s SUPER restrictive), yet we still have some of the highest opioid-use/OD rates in the country pretty well contradicts their claim.
