Nah. It'll only keep time for 4 or 5 days so I just wear it for occasions. I need to get it fixed. I wore it 24/7 for about 8 years with no service or anything.

The FXD or standard Pelagos are definitely contenders for a future pickup for me, but I’m not sure how I feel about the fixed lug.

I couldn't spend the money on it because of the fixed lug. I'd have to get a regular pelagic. Id definitely think about it for a couple months though.

I've been to an AD 3 times to check out the Pelagos (willing to purchase), and all 3 times I left underwhelmed.

On paper I love it, in person I was super disappointed. It's the most dainty tool watch I've ever held, which is a controversial statement. Side by side with my Sinn or Marathon it just felt meh, especially with that price tag.

On the other hand, all 3 trips I was inches away from picking up the BB Pro and I know I won't resist that much longer.

That's disappointing to hear. A pelagos was going to be my next one but I do like the marathon-style of beater watch. Mines been beat to hell and back.

I almost bought one of these at Disney Springs last week.
Just couldn’t bring myself to pay $6k for this.
Thats a chunk of change and no way in hell am I financing something like this.
I’m not the typical OT Winner that y’all are.

I’ve only checked it out “on paper”, haven’t seen or worn it in the metal.

Next buy will probably be a diver and at the moment I’ve mostly been looking at the Tudor or Seamaster. Really like the fifty fathoms, but it’s a completely different price point.

Not something I plan to purchase anytime soon, so it’s all moot for the time being.

The Black Bay Pro is awesome, just wish it was ~12mm thick rather than 14.5.

Obtuse -- I'm paranoid about wearing my calatrava. Don't want to scratch it up. Is this dumb if I plan on keeping it for many years?

I'd wear it, so what if it gets scuffed. I was the same way but after nearly dying of heart problems a few years ago I am far less concerned and rather use and wear things than just let them sit in a case and collect dust. I don't have anything like a Patek or even a Rolex but if I manage to pick something up it will probably be the only watch I'd wear unless doing yard work or a project.

Why save it for someone else to enjoy after you? That's like not driving a car or having sex with your girlfriend.

not being a dick, but it kinda feels like the daytona craze is winding down. maybe just me, but there are much more interesting watches out there right now with less 'eye fatigue' from seeing these pandas all the time.
