re: Texas vs Georgia which to start a life?

That was the other half of my point.
The other half, the part you refuse to get, is that in a GA vs TX thread, some folks are applying the perks of other states to GA. That's actually sillier than the perks in obscure parts of Texas, because you know, they are actually in the state that's being discussed.
Both arguments made me chuckle, much like your inability to grasp that which I found humorous.

Sorry I just saw your reply.
I’ve lived in Waco, Dallas and Atlanta. My main reason that I prefer GA is that it feels a lot more “southern” than TX; just my opinion. I also liked the weather better than TX (both better than LA) because GA has all seasons, but not bad winters. If you’re an SEC football fan, GA’s location is awesome for short road trips to games, and the college football culture was way more fun. I also liked the people in GA better. To me, they just seem more laid back. It’s already been discussed in this thread but I do think GA is better for outdoor activities. Lastly, I think Atlanta is a much prettier city than Dallas or Houston (Austin has parts just as nice or even nicer though).

Georgia, and it's not close for me. I prefer the queit antebellum Southern towns to Mexicans and new money.
I'd choose Tennessee, SC, NC or VA over GA or TX, though. All the positives of GA and better weather.

Do you get along better with blacks or Mexicans?

Yes, your inability to express linear thoughts is our problem.

Atlanta too is an 8 hour drive from nice hiking.
The Smoky Mountains are a couple hours drive from ATL. And nearby Stone Mountain has hiking trails.
For the record:Personally think Texas is better in terms of growing economy, diversity of economic growth, opportunity, etc.
Otherwise, it's a matter of what you prefer in terms of geography/climate/culture.

Mexicans hands down. They don’t bother me and are mostly well mannered. Even if they lack well english. I’m sick of pulling up to a drive thru and hearing “whatchu want? Mmhm, pull up behbeh” is there a lot of that in Georgia like there is in La?

Start a NOLA VS Atlanta thread and you’ll realize it isn’t Texas people down voting the Georgia posts.

Texas hombre. Think you'd like Houston, Dallas, or even Austin although Austin is turning into lil silicon valley but to each their own.

Well, in Georgia you live and work with black people. GA probably has the largest black middle class in America, which is usually good. There is some tension there and I'm sure we're frustrated with one another at times, but despite differences I'll never have animosity toward black families looking for similar things (safe neighborhoods, good schools, etc.).
Of course, we do have bad neighborhoods and most of your random/opportunity crime will have black perpetrators (at least in Atlanta). A lot of the victims are black too. The biggest concern is the brazenness of some of that crime, which is rare but which is big news when it occurs. Like a thug unnecessarily shooting a guy after an upscale wedding this weekend in a nice part of town (the perp robbed people leaving the wedding).
I don't get frustrated by what you're describing in Louisiana. I get annoyed by the level of black on white hostility (usually black females) which is far more likely to occur in Buckhead than in some bad neighborhood.

So you’re saying Nola people hate Atlanta?

To be fair though, I imagine almost all of those shots are in western Texas, away from likely places of work that this person is looking at.
If he is in Houston or DFW, pointing out the proximity of those locations is like pointing out the proximity of Disney World to Atlanta as a perk.
The Hill Country is right outside of Austin and is essentially in the center of the state.

Atlanta sucks, Houston sucks, Dallas sucks, but Texas’s sheer size and geographic diversity really wins the day. There is something for everyone there.

especially for those that like approximately 4-4.5 months in a row of at or near 100 degree temps and high humidity to go with it, this is a typical year, absolutely no spring whatsoever, went from winter to blast furnace overnight
