Yeah, the mean elevation for Texas is 1700 ft, compared to Georgia's, 600 ft.

It gets hilly an hour west of Houston.

Georgia easily, Big Bend is on the other side of the state and hill country is meh. BBQ is better in Texas, but I would take Georgia people over Texas people any day of the week.

We don’t have a border with Mexico but you wouldn’t know it looking around.

We have alot more black people too, but alot more well-to-do than other states. ATL is the upper-middle class black Mecca.

I prefer southern states, so I’d pick Georgia.

And you have to live in midland or New Mexico to be anywhere near it.

Texas. Lower taxes. More efficient state and local governments. Room to grow!

Wrong. Texas is far from flat. It’s not even close to being flat.
Texas has “Hill Country” north of San Antonio but more importantly the highest point in Texas is Guadalupe mountain the highest point in Georgia is Brasstown bald mountain. Guess which one is highest? Guadalupe is almost 9,000 feet above sea level. Brasstown isn’t even 5,000.

Not to mention, anything south of Macon is way different than north GA. Columbus and Valdosta are depressing.

Yeah, and those upper-middle-class blacks aren't the ones breaking into cars and sticking up the bank at Publix in our old established neighborhood (Druid Hills/Fernbank/Emory).

Petty crime is really bad all over in-town Atlanta, and traffic in town has gotten exponentially worse than when I moved there nearly 20 years ago. Reverse white flight is responsible for that. I just don't drive during rush hours (and hours).

I have a hard time defending Atlanta generally, but a few days in Baton Rouge makes me appreciate it.

From my house, I can jump on the PATH system through a couple neighborhood streets and bike, run, walk on 30+ miles of dedicated paths and trails. Through wooded parks and quiet neighborhoods. And that doesn't include the Beltline, Chattahoochee, Stone mtn trail or Silver Comet.

Outside Atlanta, Athens is the best college town in the SEC. Towns like Macon, Columbus and Augusta are improving. The Ga mtns have some cool towns like Blue Ridge, Dahlonega, Elijay, and Hiawassee. The north Atlanta superburbs have sort of created their own bubble that isn't just strip malls any more (Acworth, Buford and the like--decent lake towns).

Tybee and St Simons are nice beach towns (if you avoid Orange Crush weekend...).

Savannah has some muh culcha if you can avoid getting culcha'ed.

Texas just does absolutely nothing for me.

Nope. Don’t care too. I’m straight. Texas is a bunch of steers and queers.
