Because if you care about raising a family, making six figures, and being able to do whatever the frick you want, there's no better place than TEXAS.

You'll find people from many states say the exact same thing.
One of the great things about this nation, there's somewhere for everyone, and nothings objectively the best.

Have to deal with gumps huh? One of the stupidest comments ever. The largest per capita population of engineers in the country are in gumpland you retard. Maybe you need to stay away and not lower the IQ here.

Can you provide a source for that, mr gump? Thanks! I look forward to not hearing back from you.

I love Texas and all but it’s a bit disingenuous to include Big Ben type of outdoors for this discussion.
Atlanta too is an 8 hour drive from nice hiking.
Yea, between this and the people saying, "Georgia is much better because you're close to FL, NC, SC, TN" is making this thread hilarious.

I'm sure it's also 8 hours from good hiking, which was the point of his post.

Yeah I'm going to need to see some documentation on this. I'd guess the biggest concentration of engineers would be in Houston. And I'm married to a gump

Texas gives you the opportunity to make more money. However, Georgia wins in pretty much every other category for me.

Right. And Texas offers all of that within the state if we're ignoring the distance.
If the best part of living in Georgia is in a different state, why not move to that state and whatever Georgia offers is still there.

Doesn’t compute.
GA has its own mountains and beaches, mega city, suburbs, and rural living, historic places, many lakes and rivers, all within a 3 hour radius from one another.
Never have to cross a state line.
But you could... and there’s cool stuff in other neighboring states too.

Hint: It's because the thread is titled Texas vs. Georgia.

No shite. Goddam is everyone in this thread from Georgia this obtuse? Are yall really struggling with what I'm saying? Is my throw away comment about the two states' best qualities either being a full day's drive away or in another state being funny to me that upsetting?

Texas during working years
Georgia when retired
Screw Texas and their absurd arse property taxes post retirement

Texas certainly has a more diverse economy - Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio. I'd prefer the terrain and weather in Northern Georgia though.
A lot of people in Louisiana end up in Texas, particularly Houston from South LA and Dallas from North LA, due to proximity to their family.

Nobody understands your point, but everyone else is obtuse. Yes, I'm certain we're not up to your intellectual capacity out here in ole Georgia.
In your defense, I assumed you were indicating it was silly to talk about Big Bend when it is 9-10 hours away from major Texas cities. In other words, that it being in Texas seems inconsequential. But apparently that isn't your point, so count me with the lesser minds who aren't on your Louisianan level.

To be fair though, I imagine almost all of those shots are in western Texas, away from likely places of work that this person is looking at.
If he is in Houston or DFW, pointing out the proximity of those locations is like pointing out the proximity of Disney World to Atlanta as a perk.
