If you had to choose one or the other which would you choose? They both are growing fast and seem to be great places to live.

Just overall. They both are growing like crazy. Atlanta metro has so much and so does the DFW metro area.

Texas. Remember: The boys are thirsty in Atlanta, and there's beer in Texarkana.

Say whaaaatttttt? Depending on where you live in Atlanta metro area, you’re 2 hours away from the mountains where you can camp, hike, white water raft and many other outdoor activities. Texas is flat so if you like being outdoors where it’s flat, then Texas is the place.

I'm biased, but Georgia.

The Atlanta metro is thriving and growing rapidly. You're not far from beaches, mountains, etc. You don't have to deal with Texans.

Traffic sucks but there's some give and take with everything.

For me it's easily Georgia. Better food, better beaches, nicer people, trees, better roads, closer to my folks. Texas does have better tacos.

Georgia has a lot more to offer in my opinion.

Better beaches in state (and you still have Gulf and NC/SC/FL Atlantic nearby), mountains (N Ga + NC/TN/SC and even Bama near Rome). And as much as Atlanta can suck, I much prefer it over Dallas, Houston, SA, and these days even Austin).

No border with Mexico (just have to deal with a lot of Gumps).

It's easier to escape the heat too (and it generally isn't as hot to begin with). A 2- 2.5 hr drive to NC mtns from Atlanta usually buys you about 20 degrees in summer.

The other day when the heat index hit 109 when I was visiting BR, it was 76 w index in Highlands, NC.

Georgia most likely. I like their landscape and small town scene better, Savannah is an awesome town, beach/mountains/lakes/creeks everywhere. Sounds pretty great to me.

The highest point in Texas is larger than the highest point in Georgia, by 4,000 ft.
