As someone who has lived in TX for the last 7 years, the state really needs to get their shite together when it comes to power.

This will be EVERYWHERE if the shift to electric cars goes at the speed the current administration wants it to. If we want a majority of the cars to be electric WE WILL NEED MORE POWER PLANTS AND AN UPGRADED ELECTRICAL GRID.
Honestly if the emphasis was “conservation” then prorate the consumption. If you consume low amounts then you pay a better rate if you want to crank the AC down to 68 in all the rooms of your house while also charging your 2 electric cars then you pay a much higher rate.

The Biden administration has a lot in common with Chinese communist regime. They make outrageous claims and expect we take it as gospel despite the fact it doesn’t make sense. Wind and solar have absolutely nothing to do w/the Texas power grid issues.
Tesla charging doesn't do much of anything either.
To ease the stress on our grid you'd have to convince people to stop blasting their AC all day every day.
Our population has exploded in the last 30 years (17m in '90 to 29m now) and the various power companies have done a mediocre job keeping up w/the needed expansion. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'll tell you what should be the lead. It's that Abbott and Perry have watched this state grow by 8.25M from 2000 - 2020 and have done nothing to ensure the providers are doing all they can to keep our lights on.
