How many idiots on here pay for this??? Complete scam unless you’re an incompetent a-hole who can’t keep an eye on your own house.

Oh it’s not that much money? Write me a check then, idiot.

I stand with Tac on this one. But in a much less aggressive way.

Some mortgages require it. It is silly. Had a contract for two years. Then canceled

I know someone that works for a pest control company just doing sales.

They're shady as frick. Upselling everything, marking up quotes to make extra commission and then trying to sell you everything including attic insulation. He just goes to people's houses to do an "inspection" and then tries to make a killing on commission. They especially prey on the elderly.

He makes a lot more money than you'd think. And I quit talking to him because he said something about upsellingelderly people on shite they probably didn't need.

I told him to get bent and if it was my dad he did that to, I'd kick the shite out of him. I don't talk to him after that.

Yes we know, you remind us weekly. We’re also familiar with your retarded thought about homeowners coverage.

Ain't no termites going after your mobile home

I do find the termite testing to be funny. You spend thousands to tent, and the termites can literally come back the very next day.

It’s worth the money so I don’t have to hear my wife panic the moment she sees her first swarmer of the year

I’ll agree with you on this Trac. Did initial treatment when house was built. You can spray every year if you want yourself. I haven’t and my house is now 17 years old. It’s a waste of money paying these companies.

Depends where you live. Termites are horrible in New Orleans. If found and under contract, the company is responsible for the damage.

Also, many buyers are not interested in a house that is not under termite contract. It's a sign you don't maintain your house and are cheap. May not be true, but that's the perception.

But If you don't sign up for it here in NC, we are responsible for damage they may cause.

Found the pest control scammer.

You’re prob the same a-hole who over pays for a car (depreciating asset) for its resale value.

Is this kind of like not needing to take BP meds anymore because your BP isn't high anymore?

I’d suggest you read your termite contract very carefully if you believe that. I purchased a house in New Orleans with a termite contract and was told the same thing. I read the contract and it said nothing of the sort. It just said if termites were found, they would spot treat for no additional charge.

I purchased a house last year. Last week the company showed up that had a contract with the previous owner. He said “I assume you want to renew the termite contract.” I said “if I get a contract with you, what does that get me.” The guy said “well, we’ll come out periodically and look for termites and we’ll spray for bugs”. Past that he had no clue.

I asked him when the last time the property was treated by them. He had no clue. I asked him to email me the contract and I’d read it. I never got an email.

I own a pest control company

All of this is spot on for a whole lot of sales guys out there. Absolute pieces of shite.

People are scared to death of rats, termites, and other bugs, so the fear is already built in and it's easier to charge insane prices and the elderly are absolutely most susceptible to the insane prices some of these companies charge.

It does end up benefitting my company though, because word of mouth has been fantastic. I'll often tell prospective customers how they can take care of the issues themselves if they want to save money.

I never needed to be rich, I just didn't want a boss, or get up early, or have meetings, or shave everyday.
