best termite pesticide I found is thermodor spray? by Basf. advertised to be good for 15 years and termites will eat the poison and go back to the hive where it continues to kill. For my present house I sprayed all of the walls before insulation an sheet rock installed. I had a house that got infected with dry wood termite and used that basf product by drilling holes into wall void space and using a turkey baster to inject the basf stuff with . a bit of plaster and paint closed it up. No more termites for the long term.
and yes the termite salesman will rip you off. As a minimum ask to see the pesticide manufactures literature and sealed containers being used

Termidor HE if you can get it. Don't have to do nearly as much digging and it works just as well as the Termidor SC.

You think you’re paying for the contract or annual servicing of a termite baiting system protecting your home?

It depends on the company. I don't know what it's like nowadays, but in New Orleans a lot of startup pest control companies went under because their insurance would drop them after a big claim. As far as I'm aware, as long as they find active termites on the damage most companies are on the hook for it. What the hell would be the point in getting the contract if not?

Termite company treated my new build office incorrectly.
They paid $50K for the termite damage 4 years later.

Like the other poster said. Check your contract. I heard one time Terminix is the only company that would pay up for damages. The rest are a contract to treat and kill the termites. You are on the hook for fixing your house from the damage they cause.
From Google:
However, licensed pest control companies may pay for repairs if you purchase a specific service agreement known as a termite bond (or damage repair bond). Unlike standard warranties that only cover retreatment, a bond is a contract where the company guarantees to cover the cost of replacing structural wood damaged by termites after their treatment.
Key distinctions include:
Standard Warranties: Typically only cover the cost of killing returning termites; they do not pay for structural repairs.
Termite Bonds: Premium contracts that cover both retreatment and structural damage repair, though they often exclude pre-existing damage missed during the initial inspection.

Termite contracts typically come with a treatment bond. Many used to have a repair bond but most companies stopped writing repair bond contracts. I have a repair bond on our house we bought in 2008. Found subterranean termites this past March in our master bath. Termite company is paying for most of the work but not all since we decided to gut and renovate the entire MB. As long as I continue to renew, I’ll always have the repair bond.

BabyTac don’t need this cause his home has wheels and is 2 feet off the ground. I understand, it’s all good.

If found and under contract, the company is responsible for the damage.
Nope. Not anymore
Terminix was the last company to offer that and they no longer do
They are only responsible for getting rid of the termites. So if you need a tent then its included in what you pay for the contract. They do not cover the damage.

There are plenty of termite companies that offer damage bonds on termites, including Formosan.

I’m surrounded by swamps and have swarms 2x per year. I have the bait system and Spectracide won’t sell it to the public. I don’t trust the liquid barrier approach that is much cheaper to do DIY.
The other bait systems that are DIY (not the Home Depot types) are expensive as hell so it’s almost a wash for me to do it or someone else.
What I do though is make sure I’m home and I go with them around the house to make sure they actually inspect each station and put in new bait if need be. They don’t know it but I know what to look for when doing an inspection so they can’t get away with a BS half assed inspection/bait replacement.
