Tuition was $160 a semester. Pulled class cards in the Assembly Center. Watched the first round of streaking and reported on it for the Reveille. Pasted up the Reveille in the backshop at the printing office.

Drank 25-cent beer in the Tiger Lair on Fridays and watched Reefer Madness.

After class I would go home and watch this new thing called MTV. They played cool music videos 24/7.

And a room in North Stadium was $90 a semester.
Classes still had two digit numbers - like Latin 90.

I lived in the North Stadium dorm; before football games (which I got in with my ID and a paper "date ticket" for my non-LSU student girlfriend) I would take my girlfriend to Round-the-Corner on Highland just past the north gate, where we would place our burger order from our table on a telephone.

And after the game (sometimes before the end), we'd leave the interior of the stadium, step just outside, turn and go back into the dorm section of the stadium; I'd put a sock on the door as a message for the roommate and get down to business.

Good times.

Only thing I'll add is Magoo's on Chimes St. and the hostage crisis in Iran started that fall. Campus was somewhat interesting for a few weeks after that...

The "tunnels" under the campus weren't ever locked and could run around under there and pop up somewhere else.

Murphy’s bartenders standing on the bar poured Jager directly into my mouth from the bottle while the fight song played.

That shite don’t fly anymore.

I've been to Murphy's and Sports Illustrated.

Raising Canes was started when I was a sophomore.

Ive partied at AAA Bar and Grill.

I've wild cow milked in Parker Colliseum. .

I've attended Halloween parties when blackface could be part a costume without bein offensive.

I've shopped as a student at Delchamps on Highland. Before the Mall of LA existed.

I've partied at Chelsea's in the Super Fresh Shopping Center.

I've hung our at Fred's before the deck.

I saw LSU football beet #1 Florida in the student section. (And lose to Ole Miss a week later).

I remember when Southside Daquiris was in the middle of nowhere.
