Unfortunately, they do not, but the good news is that because you are involved in her life, she has a much better chance of being a decent human being. There will be flashes of this in time, there will be hard times where she will come running to you, but they all grow up and become whoever it is they are meant to be.

Enjoy those moments now so you don't have regrets later like some of us do.

I have two daughters, both teenagers(prayers accepted).

Video as much as you can, hopefully without them knowing, because it goes quick and you will want to revisit it. It was interesting though to see my older daughter come back around a little bit. I could honestly skip the 12, 13, 14 year old years.

Mine turns 18 tomorrow. We have always had a great relationship. But there are moments. If she has XX chromosomes, there will be moments she isn't sweet.

I have 3 daughters. 23, 22 and 17 my man. 22 year old is married, has a one year old daughter herself. And no, they aren’t always as sweet as they were when they were your girls age, but damn if they all still don’t have me wrapped around their little fingers. Even though they are all pretty much grown, they are still my little girls. Your relationship with your daughter is going to change numerous times over the years, but she will still be your little girl no matter what, and she will always need her daddy.

Dude you are disgusting. I don’t normally respond to posts on the OT, but this got me boiling. Just uncalled for.

Yeah, it seems the autists with absolutely zero social skills were out in full force for the first couple pages of this thread.

That’s good stuff.
I was very close to my daughter while she was young. She’s 21 now and still my princess. We still go on daddy daughter lunch dates, movies, and plays and stuff like that.

I definitely miss when they were very small, but every stage has its joy. The other day I told my 10 yr old son that I miss when he was about 5. He said “but if I was still little, I wouldn’t be able to tell you deez nuts jokes”. Heartwarming moment.

I've got five of those precious daughters ranging from 10 to 33. I'll say this, hearing all of them still say "Daddy I love you" can bring me to my knees.

Enjoy the ride my man, nothing better than raising daughters

4-6 is such a great age for little girls

My 5 year old can be such a handful at times, but the innocent naivety they have at that age is just so wholesome

My 11 year old still thinks I'm pretty cool and likes to hang out with me, but every now and then that pre-teen angst sneaks in and it reminds me that she is about to change and it kinda breaks my heart

My 16 year old granddaughter is awesome, but she's also incredibly smart and has pretty much managed her own affairs for the past few years.

Shes not tied into the usual adolescent female hive mind. One of my daughters escaped it too, the other fell prey and we had a harder time with her.

I have a 3 year old. She got in trouble yesterday, then came after her time out and said she wanted to give me a hug and told me she loved me. She already has her attitude and loves her mommy more than me, but it makes it even better when she does something sweet to me. But I foresee the her teens driving me back to drinking, .

Treat her right. Educate her right. Defend her when able, represent her in every way. She'll grow to be just like her mother ........

I got a photograph this morning of my grandkids....(4) The note from my daughter "You told me long ago, what causes this ......I still remember"

I read either the football or baseball rulebook while she was dating. She came in one night and stood beside me. "Dad, you don't to wait for me each time I go out." "Oh yes I do."
"Then you don't trust me"
"Has nothing in the world to do with trusting you. It has everything to do with trusting guys like me."

She leaned over and kissed me on the forehead "Now I understand"

She creates lap monsters .......

I have a three year old daughter and find myself taking her side against my wife more than I did with my two older boys. It’s a fun age and I think she knows she can manipulate me. I’m here for it.

Same scenario here my friend. Leaving the house this morning I told my daughter "Bye baby bear" she shoots right back, "Bye poppa bear". Nothing quite like it.
