They certainly can be.. my oldest daughter turns 17 tomorrow and she still wants me to come tuck her in at night and I'll gladly do it because she'll graduate in a year and a half and will certainly miss that.. They definitely grow up way too damn fast.. So cherish every moment you get..

My wife and I took her younger sister in for a few years during middle and high school. The holy terror she brought to our doorstep.

You are always their Daddy, and so a part of them will always be that 4 yr old. My 27 year old daughter, living far away, still has that sweet soul.

I have 3 daughters, of course they don’t stay that sweet so soak it up while you can. They grow up so damn fast and it sucks.
With that being said, it’s an adventure with ups and downs but they do such a great job of taking care of me as well.

My daughter just started school at LSU this Fall. They grow up fast so enjoy every moment with her.

I am 57 and my dad is 81. Sweetness looks different with age but is still sweet. Someday your little girl will make your favorite breakfast on Father's Day and cover you with a blanket while you watch football on a cold night. She will fix hot soup when you have a cold and help change the batteries in your hearing aid. Raising a daughter right yields great rewards.
