50% of my income come in RSU and the stock went up too much and I didn’t withhold enough

Used to be my favorite time of the year since I normally get refund
We owe a freighter-load of Cap Gains this year. But I'd far prefer that to giving all of it, and then some, to DC over the course of the year in order to get a refund.

I’d much rather keep my money throughout the year, you’re bill is your bill, no matter when you pay it

Serious question, why wouldn’t you just let your employer sell a portion and withhold from that?
Posted on 3/28/25 at 12:19 pm to Dadren
They do, I didn’t tell them to sell enough. Stocks almost doubled and I didn’t adjust
Posted on 3/28/25 at 12:25 pm to PhiTiger1764
Yeah I got $7,000 back. Don’t feel like attempting to adjust it. Also don’t care. I got it back right when the stock market dropped so it worked out.
10/10 will do again

huh?
you'd rather pay the IRS at the end of the year? instead of paying an
HSA
401k
Charity
START for kids
etc etc
and if you're self employed or a business owner the list is endless
