It can’t get any slower than having literally 0 land falling storms in the Gulf.

This would have been a useful prediction last year

The season long predictions typically correspond to activity; not location. The total number of named storms and major hurricanes weren't far off from predictions. Luckily, most were fish storms.

I think in one of the first Hurricane season kickoff threads, one of our board experts mentioned that the steering mechanisms and conditions predicted a mild Gulf season.

The season had a ton of storms. An active season has nothing to do with Gilf landfall. I am sure the Jamaicans thought this season was slow.

There's never been a hurricane documented in the Gulf of America.

First it was "super fog" now we have "Super Nino"... Have the weather people run out of adjectives?

"Super" is "the new normal."

sounds like this could happen soon, maybe even the day after tomorrow....

They might even miscalculate and it can end up two days before the day after tomorrow.

Are they aware that they are predicting for Atlantic hurricane season and the dark spot they circled is in the Pacific? Seems like a good starting point to double check the guess figures.

Is this a serious reply?

Maybe it’s just in my head, but when we have strong El Niño seasons, while that’s great for the chances of not having to worry about a hurricane, it seems to also bring more consistent windier conditions on the coast that make speck fishing, especially under the lights at night, a bit more sporadic due to murky water.

Again, I could just be imagining that.

I’m old enough to remember the first El Niño. I think it was around 93.

We were freaking out. I don’t think La Niña came along until about 10 years later.

We will make it.

But will the NWS still predict that this could be another record year for hurricanes?

I'm hearing it could be as soon as two days before the day after tomorrow, we need to protect all beaver dams and call Randy Marsh as soon as possible.
