If Ozzy Osbourne can make it to 76yo

quote:

He said in interviews that he should have died “a thousand times” given how much his body endured.

That should recalculate actuarial tables, lower life insurance rates, recalibrate mindset of the “killers” eg, seems hard drugs won’t get you while sugar/processed food do. Snort a line and bite a bat but don’t eat fruit loops! Know he died of Parkinson’s related and no clue what, if any lifestyle is linked to it…but in general, a lot of people who did not make it to 76 did not bite a bat or do hard drugs.

Recalibration of Hope! Most importantly should give everyone on Earth hope (for long life)! Damn.

GPT doing work:

1. The Bat Incident (1982)
• Location: Des Moines, Iowa
• During a concert, a fan threw a live bat onto the stage. Ozzy, thinking it was rubber, bit its head off.
• He had to get rabies shots afterward.
• This became one of the most iconic (and misunderstood) rock moments in history.

?

?? 2. The Dove Incident (1981)
• At a meeting with CBS Records to celebrate his solo deal, Ozzy, heavily intoxicated, pulled out two live doves from his coat and bit one’s head off in front of horrified executives.
• The idea was to release them peacefully into the air… but the drugs and alcohol said otherwise.

?

???? 3. The Alamo Incident (1982)
• In San Antonio, Texas, Ozzy was arrested for urinating on the Alamo Cenotaph (not the actual Alamo building).
• He was wearing Sharon’s dress because she had hidden his clothes to keep him from going out drunk.
• He was banned from San Antonio for 10 years.

?

?? 4. The Cocaine Ants Story
• On tour with Mötley Crüe, Ozzy snorted a line of ants off the sidewalk after running out of cocaine (according to Crüe’s autobiography The Dirt).
• He then urinated on the ground and licked it up.
• Nikki Sixx (Mötley Crüe bassist) said Ozzy “won” their competition for most extreme behavior.

?

?? 5. Daily Drug Budget
• In the late ’70s and early ’80s, Ozzy claimed he would spend $1,000 per day on cocaine, and wash it down with copious amounts of booze.
• He said in interviews that he should have died “a thousand times” given how much his body endured.

?

??? 6. He Forgot He Was Married
• Ozzy once woke up in a hotel room, saw a woman lying next to him, and called security thinking she was an intruder. It was his wife, Sharon.

?

?? Bonus Quote from Ozzy:

“I was doing a line of cocaine that was so long it needed a runway. I would have snorted the state of Florida if you laid it out.”

Many of them end up sober after a time.

Slash and Duff from Guns N Roses are completely sober and have been for 20 years. Duff was a terrible alcoholic, Slash was into everything but mostly alcohol and heroin.

Anthony Keidas of RHCP
Trent Reznor of NIN
Most of Aerosmith.
Billy Corgin

That’s just off the top of my head.

Joe Walsh
Eric Clapton
Stevie Nicks

Alice Cooper

Just to name a few who if had not gone sober would probably not be living today.

Is he sober? I didn’t know he was one of us that made it though the dark days.

Although not a rock star, Tony Orlando went cold turkey on cocaine and other drugs, alcohol, cigarettes and coffee all on the same day. He credited his faith in God to help him.

Mick Mars is 74 and that dude is a walking stick bug with a fused spine.

I thought he would have bit the dust a while ago.

A true rockstar comes with a drug problem and a lot of emotional baggage. It is the lifeblood of the art.

Sorry to add to the gloomy death week but the world of music lost George Kooymans 4 days ago.
I know, most of you are saying 'Who?"
If you're old enough to remember racing down the highway at 110mph in your Trans Am. Beer and a joint in the left hand. Right hand feeling up your girl. Steering with your knee and singing "Radar Love" at the top of your lungs then you'll remember he was the guitarist for Golden Earring.

Most of these folks had decades to indulge.

Do a comparison with hip hop and rap folks. Start counting years from when their new names are announced until cultural practices, theirs and their enemies', take them down.

Have any rock stars been eliminated by enemies?

He looked like he was 74 when he was 44. I thought he died years ago.

I bet the next 3 or 4 days were pretty damn miserable.

I thought I was going to die for a couple of days just from nicotine withdrawals when I quit dipping Copenhagen years ago. Cold sweats, headaches, feverish feeling, near panic, just awful. I can't imagine how bad it was to quit all of that crap at one time.

Well, he's the exception to the rule and will skew the numbers upwards.

How that man is still alive and pretty much fully functional on a daily basis is a miracle with what he's put his body through over the years.

Of course, he's been sober for years, well from Heroin at least. I think he's stated he still drinks occasionally and weed.

But anyone thats seen his videos from the 90s when he left the band and was on another planet, he's straight as can be compared to then.

Lemmy Kilmister drank a fifth of Jack a day for decades. He quit in 2013 for “health reasons” and died in 2015 aged 70.

Lemmy also loved amphetamines.
