I’ve only had someone try this once on me. I give firm handshakes but I don’t pull people in or others pull me in. Ran into a friend of mine’s ex wife and her new boyfriend and she introduced me as her ex’s coworker and my name, which is correct. He pulled me in on the handshake and instead of handshake and pat on the shoulder like I usually do, I hand patted the top of his head and gave a little playful noogy rub. It was awkward but she never liked me to begin with so I’m sure her new boyfriend heard a bunch of untrue BS about me.
ETA: Sometimes there is an overly drunk friend who is way to happy to see you get excited and pull while shaking hands

I only throw things away in other people's trash cans.
Specifically, my boss.
I go out of my way to treat the owner of the company the same way I treat the receptionist.

- Squeeze hands when I shake.
- Look people in the eyes during the entire interaction.
- When I am in a room with a group of people in which everyone will eventually take a seat. I get my spot ASAP before going talk to people are whatever. I like to have my spot marked.
I do this by putting whatever I have with me down in that location.
- When I know there will be a situation in which people will be undecided on, I make the decision ahead of time and say that we are going to _______________.. People don't like to make decisions when it comes to being in groups so I make it for them.
