I would try to get back in touch with your neighbor before attempting to go.

Why would the grid rely so much on one piece of infrastructure, like this tower? Sounds like dumb planning

I think the pumps are ok. It’s more of the electrical grid that’s taken the hit

Yeah I am gonna hold off today and see how we look tomorrow.

My brother is over in Mandeville and may be headed to the Lakefront Airport for a meeting later, so hopefully I can just get him to check.

In HSV AL same thing happened during the 2012 tornados. Cut a main line coming from the plant. Whole town was without power and minimal tornado damage.

I guess there is a main line always providing power from somewhere. I have no idea though. Its not just a New Orleans thing

Hmm I think they were more like Cat 3/4 conditions.

Not in NOLA. If this was a direct hit on NOLA it would look very different right now.

It's not really a good question b/c the answer is pretty clear.

New Orleans is going to be crippled for a month because of essentially Cat 1-2 hurricane conditions

Woefully inaccurate

how the frick does the entire power, water and sewer system go kaput with relatively mild storm conditions

On which planet do you live that you refer to yesterday as mild storm conditions?

I don't think he means the metro, I think he means Nola itself, especially inside their levees.

Imagine what we'd be seeing today if Nola got what the Westbank got

For NOLA, I've read sustained winds in mid-70s, gusts mid 90s. That's strong Cat 1. We could call it Cat 2 to be conservative. NOLA should not be in the situation that they are in with those type of conditions.

EDIT: Considering what they went through 16 years ago.

People top to bottom just learned it was an opportunity to steal on a massive scale. All they see now is an opportunity to crank it up again and “get theirs.”

What in the hell are they going to do in Nola/JP for the next 2-4 weeks? People won't be able to evac for a day or 2 at least, but lots won't/can't and you're going to have literally hundreds of thousands of people in an area without electricity, water, etc.

what situation? without power and water? thats a entergy issue and they can only due so much. the lines have to come from the plant somehow.

NOLA is currupt and is run like shite and they should have called for evec but not sure what you are referring to with situation.

not like there is massive flooding, buildings down etc.

It was really a rough storm, if you didnt go through it, I doubt i could make you understand;

I dont know what your personal "failure to severity index" allows for bro, but be sure to include how slow it moved.
