Shocked to see very little damage in my neighborhood (Algiers Point). No flooding, aside from a few downed fences and about a million tree branches, very little wind damage

what situation? without power and water? thats a entergy issue and they can only due so much. the lines have to come from the plant somehow.

NOLA is currupt and is run like shite and they should have called for evec but not sure what you are referring to with situation.

I think somebody said last night that OP regulates Entergy in Nola and not the state commissioner

This assumes the bridges werent washed away

The new bridges were built to withstand this but a good chunk of LA 1 between Fourchon and GI might have washed away

True.

I was wondering if Ida had surpassed Laura in landfall wind speed and strength.

just saw hundreds of power trucks leaving Lafayette for eastern Louisiana with police escort. Hoping you guys get power up and running soon.

I probably wouldn't do that in the current weather. There are still heavy spiral bands swinging through the Mississippi and Alabama coasts. Flash flooding and spinup tornadoes will remain an issue in those areas for a while longer.

I concur. There’s one hell of a thunderstorm right now in Jackson County. It’s not something you’d want to drive in if you can avoid it.

to add to that, you havent even given them a chance to see if they have gotten better at these things

- set up food truck and supply areas

- direct gas to the correct stations that have back up generators

- stop looting and other lawlessness

- work with entergy to get power routed from somewhere else to get the pumps up to get sewer and water running

- get the leaks fixed on the water system

i dunno how they will do, i have my suspicions but lets see before jumping on them

you sound really realyl inexpierenced in these things.

Please explain what situation you are talking about.

EDIT: Considering what they went through 16 years ago.

So let me get this straight: city flooded 16 years ago, made corrections so it didn't happen again.

A stronger storm hits, the flood protection works, and now you're bitching that they dont have power and shouldnt be in this situation???

Should we relocate the city to kansas or something?

I mean it probably will deserve 5-10x the amount

I'm not worried about that. I can just foresee a situation where a huge DEM federal slush fund area gets that government money relatively quickly.

I think, as of today, it's a tie.
