After Katrina, they allowed people into Jefferson parish for maybe 48 hours to check on property, rip sheet rock deal with fridge. Then only infrastructure repair crews were allowed and in 30 days it was up and running for the most part. NOLA took much longer.
Bring back memories of living and working in Metairie for 6 months with only Canes, Arby’s, and the Buds Broiler on Clearview l. Loved on MRE’s and put on a ton of weight eating that crap.

I haven’t heard from anyone in Gretna or uptown since last night. They’re all ATT folks.

My house is between Hwy 11 bridge and the twin spans on the canal side of Lakeview Dr. Water came over Lakeview Dr into Eden Isles canals but only in spots. Similar to Zeta maybe a little more.
Did the water get high enough to flood oak harbor or eden isles houses? I have friends back there still.

Apparently my home in River Ridge/Harahan area only had minor roof damage and a few missing fence posts. No water inside. I feel incredibly lucky.

Have any of the others that did not evacuate check in yet?

Internet, cable, cell service (for AT&T), and power are down uptown. Only fiber internet is still up and running. That is a disaster.

Well the Texas license plates would give them away probably.

We’ve received reports of looting at the Circle K/Exxon along Carondelet St. NOPD on scene. One of the front windows appears to have been broken.
That's the one at formerly-known-as Lee Circle. But the statue is gone and street signs removed. How could this happen?

For those needing repairs and need help from contractors. There are many reputable ones out there who will do you a good job.
However, the area will be flooded with those that are there to do nothing more than to steal your money and disappear forever.
Check out each one, check their credentials, demand written contracts and never give them full payment before they start.

Looks like the Lee Circle Circle K. That's the homeless/underpass druggies convenience store.
