I've been of the belief that this is going to suck for NOLA for a while now. Max rainfall totals keep shifting farther East. You can't dump 15-20" of rain on that city it not suck.

Yup. We’re fricked tomorrow. The hope is the eastern eyewall doesn’t directly cross the city but even if it doesn’t we are still absolutely fricked. I just hope we can get out if we need to Monday.

The fight over where the eyewall ends up doesn’t mean you’re in the clear. It’s just that you have a better chance of survival.

Yeah I think if they were just on the other side of the river they’d be much better off flood wise. The difference a half mile to a mile can make

It UNDERESTIMATED the rainfall for Harvey, not that it means a whole lot. It was showing around 20" for Harvey.

I sure hope Entergy baws pulled in as many workers out of state as they can muster. I really wonder how well they can maintain infrastructure damage with the Covid manufacturing shortages on transformers and probably poles? No telling what else.

Entergy is estimating 6-10 days normally unless you're hard to reach which changes to about 3-4 weeks. Those baws going to change "hard to reach" when they see an entire neighborhood with snapped poles.

Harvey also stalled over land. This storm isn't going to be stalling. It will slow down, but it will be gone in 24 hours

I’m talking about the entire city of New Orleans being destroyed and everything I’ve worked for being evaporated.

While others on here gloat and jump for joy.

I'm with you Bunchie. Everything I live and work for is between the River Parishes and NOLA, and there's a chance life won't be the same for me and many others Monday morning. Family is safe though, so that's a big plus.

This goofball on the local Fox news here just said there would be 160mph sustained winds. He must be a student of Biden when reading a teleprompter

What a dumb response. If landfall is noon, we will see stuff before then.

So to the people in here from Ponchatoula and Springfield earlier, how far north do we think Lake Maurepas can be pushed and how fricked are we going to be with the rivers having no where to run off, on top of the wind concern with the shift east?

It’s not to late to book it out of there. I would consider it.
