Used Carvana. Purchased the vehicle Saturday night and it was delivered Monday morning at 9am to my driveway. Bought for the same price i bought my truck for in 2015. (2013 Tacoma TRD) Less than 30k miles on it. A month in and we love it. 2023 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi.

Had a meeting with NOAA last week. It was hilarious how uncomfortable a few were to be required to call it Gulf of America!

Abbeville had one for years while I was growing up. Can’t speak for the talent.

I grew up 2 miles South of The Curve. Cousins own it now. He use to own a crop dusting service in Mississippi along with a couple strip clubs. They will feast.

Here in Fort Morgan the waves are very rough and the water is lapping up to the first row of beach houses but no rain really. Wind is steady at about 30mph, gusting up to 50.
Just rode Ponce De Leon. Water came up past the road at a couple of the beach accesses. Couple port o potties down and Vacationers trash spread everywhere from leaving full trash cans at the road overnight.

Grew up 10 mins from there. Plate lunches are outstanding. Turtle Sauce Picante and Meatball stew. All the sweets are excellent. Around the Holidays almost every shelf and space in there is covered in Pecan Pies. Lots of oil field management buy them as holiday gifts. It is a site to see and smell.
re: Flock camera installed outside of nearby school, what's your take?
Posted by lsumailman61 on 7/13/26 at 12:02 pm to lsufan1971
Gulf Shores just put up $200k in Flock cameras. Officer response time is less than 3 minutes without cameras. They have one setup that only watches the dog park which is vacant most hot or rainy days.

re: How far away do you live from your nearest nice salt water beach?
Posted by lsumailman61 on 6/24/26 at 7:43 pm to OweO
5.1 miles to the T at the Hangout. Work out in the Bay 5 days a week so get to actually enjoy the beach about twice a month. Mostly when family or friends are in town.
re: How does Rouses fresh made sausages stack up to other fresh sausages in your opinion?

Best I can get here in South Alabama without driving an hour away. Green onion and Cajun are great in gumbo.

Pesto chicken, fried rice, cucumbers from the garden before they drown.

Around 2007-2009 the marketing director for Canes was a regular at my bar. At the time they were only opening in College towns. She was excited and working on moving the headquarters to Dallas and expanding to markets outside of college towns. Looks like that moved worked out just fine.
re: Gulf Shores ICW - Has the Waterway Village Pedestrian Bridge been discussed?
Posted by lsumailman61 on 6/4/26 at 9:04 am to Shexter
ALDOT requires a pedestrian lane across the ICW. GS just went way overboard on a walking bridge 90% of citizens didn’t want. Politicians and Waterway Village businesses are only ones.
Image making that trek in July and August in 100 degree heat and humidity. I drive the Holmes (ICW) bridge everyday at all hours. More than 2 pedestrians in a day is a busy day.

My student job 25 years ago was running mail on campus from The Vet School to Lod Cook and most major offices in between. You would be surprised what people send in to the Vet School. Especially after 9/11 and the anthrax scare.

I’m in Ft Morgan everyday. Very chill and plenty beach for everyone. They are also doing a ton of building with most of those condos sleeping 20-30 people if folks need to be in the same house with the whole family. Beach Club also nice amenities on site if you need those kinds of things. My family stays on Ponce De Leon every year at a house with a pool. They pack enough food not to leave the beach house all week except the Adults indulge 1 meal at Jesses. Cook all fish, crabs, and oysters we get during the week.

They tear up my market size oysters if a larger one gets in my bags. I feel justified to take both claws due to them being a predator.
