You're missing the point.

You either order an evacuation with contraflow or you keep your mouth shut. You don't say, "well, we think you should get out but the interstate can only hold so much, so stay." People will hear that and think they should bail, and without contraflow in place, things are going to be a fricking disaster.

Just heard that Cantrell said that there isn’t enough time to do contraflow. Any thoughts on that?

They'll do double contraflow where all the normally eastbound lanes on 10 will go west and westbound lanes will go east. All the exit ramps become onramps and vice versa.

Don't give the mayor any ideas.

You’re a putz and must not live in the city. Gustav, Isaac and Zeta knocked power out to the bulk of the city.

Given that experience and the current forecast, if you are currently sitting in New Orleans thinking you will have power Monday-Thursday you’ve got sunshine and rainbows coming out your a$$ (or a generator). Doesn’t mean people should evacuate New Orleans, but if staying they should absolutely do so expecting 3-7 days of no power.

I wouldn't mind reading a recap after the storm from the Lafourche, Terrebone, and St Mary parish folks who ride this out.

And if it comes in 30 miles more east than forescast? No, sorry but you're wrong man.

Houma is 50+ miles SW of NoLa so they aren’t in the same position. I agree need to keep an eye on it if it shifts more East tomorrow.

So y’all get mad when they do order a mandatory evac, then bitch when they don’t?

Really not sure why people are still at the point of being needed to told to do something, personal responsibility is a passe notion.

I’d be a little worried sitting in New Orleans if this thing took a jog to the east last minute. I’d feel more comfortable being west of the proposed track right now than where New Orleans sits. Could be very bad. Most of the friends I have in New Orleans have left, although most have young kids.
